MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.
"I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that," he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
"It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors."

I don't care whether a candidate belives in Global Warming or Global Cooling or Man-Made Global Warming. I want a sensible energy policy.
He said not everyone is going to drive a Chevy Volt, true. And at least he endorsed nuclear power right, but he wants clean coal. If you believe in A.G.W., you can't burn coal.
I can just see retrofitting all the 1000's of existing coal burning power plants./s/
He still needs some education.
See the book Physics for Future Presidents.

Oh boy. He won’t have any regular folks voting for him. He’s gonna be out of the race in no time.

Interesting. I read all 180 comments so far and not a global warmist in the bunch as far as I could tell. I didn’t realize that the global warming issue had become that clearly a right vs. left issue, but apparently it has.
When Bush signed on to the global warming line (early in his second term, I think) I doubt that he really wanted to do so, but at that point most of the policy people in DC sounded like global warming was inevitable (except Imhoffe, who fought it consistently), but since that time we’ve had Climategate and 5 or 6 years of, if anything, cooling temperatures worldwide.
For Romney to still be willing to go the global warming route he’s either a) so plugged into the DC elite circles that he’d never question their prevailing “wisdom” or b) really believes in this boatload of crap and would cram it down our throats just like Obama wants to do.
Either way, I put it right up there with Romneycare as an indication that he’s tone deaf to the electorate in the Republican Party...totally tone deaf. (Although if he listens hard he recognize Taps being played right about now.)

I wonder if he has intentions of profiteering on carbon credits? And compete with Obama for campaign contributions from leftist corporations who also want to profiteer on "carbon credits," like Goldman Sachs.

OH GOD, I HATE THAT THOUGHT! But you may be right. This is pretty egregious. Maybe he’s trying to give himself an out.

Romney is a loser. The perfect combo is Bolton-Ryan. 2012 will demand a foreign policy expert. He can coach Ryan for 8 years. West for Secretary of Defense and Forbes for Secretary of Treasury.
