Levin to the rescue: Radio host “sick and tired” of pundit’s Palin smears
Hotair ^ | June 3,2011 | Tina Korbe

Talk radio host Mark Levin added to a growing chorus against Charles Krauthammer yesterday, saying he’s “sick and tired” of the pundit’s smears against Palin.

Levin took issue with much of the common criticisms of Palin, particularly those concerning whether or not she can win the 2012 election and how she left her governorship post early, which is normal for presidential candidates, Levin says.

“So what is it? What’s the problem?” he said. “She’s solid on social issues. She’s solid on fiscal issues. She’s solid against these subsidies against big companies – in other words, she is not a corporatist. She’s not a crony or a believer in that. She’s solid on taxes and spending. I’m just confused. She’s solid on Israel. She’s solid on the military. She’s solid with respect to our allies. Is there some big issue that’s disqualifying? What – because the liberals don’t like her? …

“I’m getting sick and tired, as I said yesterday, last week and I’ve said over the months – I’m getting sick and tired of these smears by Krauthammer against her,” Levin said. “He’s a thoroughly decent man, I understand, but he doesn’t seem very decent in this regard and I don’t know why. He’s certainly owes us a column or a better explanation, doesn’t he? He wants to influence the outcome.”

Levin is spot-on. Krauthammer is not the only one — and Sarah Palin isn’t the only object of his disdain. Krauthammer, Karl Rove and other conservative strategists have derided Herman Cain and Donald Trump, as well. Maybe it’s in the nature of punditry to point out the “flaws” in a politician’s pedigree, and it’s certainly within the scope of commentary to poke holes in a candidate’s policy positions, but, when thoughtful criticism becomes insistent censure-for-the-sake-of-censure, it reveals little more than the pundit’s superior view of himself.

But what I like best about Levin’s comments are not his criticisms of Krauthammer. What I like best are his affirmations of Palin — not so much because of any personal affinity for her, but because of a personal affinity for positivity. I’ve thought this repeatedly, as pundit after pundit and columnist after columnist has pointed out all that’s wrong with the GOP field. It seems to me a more productive approach might be first to enumerate each candidate’s qualifications — and then pick whichever candidate out-qualifies the rest. Build on the positive, in other words, rather than merely point out the negative. If conservative critics just have to criticize somebody, let it be Obama.

Many Presidents have come and gone during my lifetime. Some we’ve had to endure, others have been a blessing to our nation. The current occupant of the Whitehouse would rank among the former. If Sarah Palin has “eye-popping unfavorables,” then this nation is further down the road to ruin than at any time in our history!

Palin - Hawaii Pacific college North Idaho College Matanuska-Susitna College University of Idaho - B.S. Communication/Journalism

Obama - Occidental College Fr/Soph Columbia University - Jr/Sr Harvard Law - Magnum Cum Laude

And obama wins hands down.

Are you sure that is what you want to say, because that is what most people will think.

Is it any wonder he’s called “The Great One”? I wish he’d run for POTUS! :)

"...who to this day think that GWB was the dumbest president ever..."

Yes. The dumbest two term, twice elected president "ever."

In other words, the despite fact that SNL, Dirtbag Letterman, Jerk Leno and the MSM succeeded in effectively demonizing Bush for 8 years running, their demonizations did not prevent him being our president for those 8 years.

Anecdotally, over drinks after work, their breathless mischaracterizations make for excellent in-public kaffeesklatchish igno-blatt. They will not guide peoples' consciences once the curtain is drawn securing the sacred sanctuary of voting booth.

There is just too much at stake this time, and the public has awakened to this pressing truth.

Proof is in the pudding.

Exactly. As I said, I was not defending their approcah, just explaining it. I disagree with it, and do not believe they do real service to our cause with their PC kid glove treatment of these cretins.

As I said, I'd prefer to (verbally) smash the flies.

After I posted my last reply to you it did occur to me that Palin sometimes counterattacks the MSM, whereas Bush walked around with a “Kick Me” sign on his back for eight years. That’s also a point in your favor.

Embryonic Stem Cell research is all about human cloning. The research has not helped one person, where as Adult Stem cells are already working on a number of cures. Problem is that embryonic cells very quickly turn cancerous.

Sarah scares people on both sides of the political spectrum...

Bingo! It is pure abject FEAR from the political establishment class that we have seen, are seeing more of now, and will build to a fever pitch once she announces her candidacy (assuming that she does).

In current political terms Sarah is virtually beholden to no one, other than like-minded patriots that wish to support her in every way possible.

The source of their fear (which is well placed from their perspective) is two-fold:
1. Her administration (along with a tide of other Constitutional Conservatives that should be carried along into both houses of Congress in subsequent elections) would begin the process of restoring the federal government to its original limited Constitutionally-constrained role. It won't happen all at once, it will likely take decades to achieve, but her administration (which will hopefully run for 2 terms) will STOP the ever quickening slide into statist tyranny, and begin the rollback of encroachment on our Liberty that has been advancing for decades. This is anathema to the political establishment class; for it weakens and begins to destroy the source of their power, wealth, and reason for being.
2. No matter how much the propaganda merchants of every stripe want to keep screeching about the "impossibility" of her election, they know well that the opposite is the truth. They know that there is an enormous groundswell of patriotic citizens that have been touched by the purity and wisdom of this woman's approach and direction. They are also well aware that the heavy-handed and thinly veiled "nudges, pushes, and shoves" that the current administration has unleashed on our Liberty has served to stoke the passions of patriots (many of whom have been content to sit quietly for quite some time while the temperature under the pot has slowly been increased over time). This administration has set the stage for a push-back. (I suspect that they have knowingly done some of it, but have probably miscalculated the extent and depth of it.) This is the reason why the establishment class does not want a Constitutional Conservative to obtain the nomination, since only a candidate of this purity and dedication can inspire enough energy for patriots to finally rally.

Given the above, we must expect to see the most corrupt election cycle unfold from the moment of her announcement of candidacy. This will start in the primaries and caucuses to prevent her nomination, and will continue in the general election should we as a country be blessed to have her emerge as the nominee. All stops will be pulled out, no holds will be barred; the process will be tainted with pure evil.

In my opinion that is the circumstance that we will face. Every patriot that will be involved in her campaigns (both volunteer and professional) must know this and take it seriously. We will need to be trained in every possible way on how to detect, report, and counter wide-scale fraud and every illegal tactic imaginable. This is most likely the fight that needs to be fought to save our Nation. Each of us needs to take stock of our commitment and willingness to once again fight for our Liberty and existence as a free people.

I know that this all sounds very extreme and dramatic, but how else can an existential struggle be described?

I don't have access to I.Q. scores or grades, but if you compare the educational institutions the two attended, well, it's not close.

I agree, Obama clearly attended several institutions noted for political correctness, grade inflation and affirmative action. Those are not attributes of universities that produce good leaders.

You might want to expand your ‘analysis’ further and assess the educational institutions attended by recent presidents: Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and Obama.

Of those, who had the strongest educational backgrounds, and which made the best presidents?

At best Krauthammer is an atheist. So why should it be surprising to see him oppose Palin?

Krauthammer may be a fiscal conservative, but he is a very social liberal.

Good observations. The best way to operate is to point out the positives. (And if you can’t say anything good . . .)

How in the world do you equate attendance with intellect?
Does anybody who attended Harvard rank smarter than everyone who attended Ball State?

Does anyone who majored in Political Science or Journalism at Columbia outsmart everyone who majored in Electrical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology?

Does an affirmative action selectee who bypasses every entrance criteria to meet quotas establish for him a huge intellect?

I fear you are one of those easily manipulated people who fall for the MSM line, and are an example of the huge problem that a conservative must overcome in beating the candidates and policies of the media-savvy left.

Sarah Palin knows there are only 50 states, that Austrians don’t speak Austrian, and yes, you can see Russia from Alaska - ask anybody on Little Diomede Island, which Obama couldn’t find even with a teleprompter.

With an answer like that, you should pay me $100.

Krauthammer used to write speeches for Mondale.
Krauthammer said that Obama would stand athwart the world, a man with the political skills of a Bill Clinton and the steely resolve of Vladimir Putin.
Then Krauthammer changed his mind about BO.
Krauthammer is a reformed lib who became a neo-con.
Palin is an authentic American frontier woman, the breed that built this country. He can’t quite fathom the type.

If Palin becomes president, Krauthammer's hopes of walking again will be dashed. QED

Any hope he has should be directed toward adult stem cell research, since that is where any thing useful has been found.

I still think that there are enough of the "undecided" voters who see her as Tina Fay to keep her from winning the general.

If any undecided, or independent voter votes for Obama, then this nation is doomed and we deserver what we get.

There's yer problem - [Krauthammer & Rove] are not conservatives strategists, they're republican strategists.

Krauthammer is the foil the radical left uses to redefine "conservative," even though most of his positions are left of the traditional center. I for one, have never seen any evidence that Carter's former advisor/speechwriter is a republican. Show me his voter registration card.

Harvard Law - Magnum Cum Laude; Ever see any grades, or even a thesis? Maybe a few articles he wrote for the review?

Grades in those institutions are not earned they are bought. Many are on a pass fail system. Meaning Pay or No Pay.
