Sununu responded, “I’m surprised she doesn’t have any more respect than that for the state of New Hampshire, which has served as the launching pad for many conservative Presidents. A lot of people who are running this time have a much nicer perspective on New Hampshire than that.” [end excerpt]

John, John, John...

It's not that she doesn't respect the voters of NH, it's that she doesn't need the Republican establishment. She kicked @$$ on them in Alaska.

Mitt Romney — the guy who, in 2008, lost to McCain who then lost to 0bama.

Yeah, that’s the ticket.

“Here’s Bill Kristol suggesting McCain pick Palin as VP in June of 2008 because of her energy credentials.”

Stark contrast to his smirking and laughing when her name is mentioned now as a possible presidential candidate on the Brett Baier panel.....What a back-stabber.....

That has the makings of a great bumper sticker. lol.

Romney was just on Fox&Friends and he was saying he wants to debate Obama on healthcare. He is still defending Romneycare while trying to take on Obamacare. That is NOT going to be an easy sell.

Gretchen asked him about his being upstaged by Palin yesterday. He was cordial, but one could tell he didn't like that [the question and the upstaging].

You can see how this is going to be a Palin landslide. She has the charisma factor completly off the charts. Racist won’t stick to her while Romney is who the DNC wants to use it against. It would be macaca all over again.

McCain didn’t pick her, he wanted Liberman but the Conservatives were leaving so he agreed to Sarah to stop the leak. The Country Club has regretted it ever since.

Pray for America

Most definitely a second term Gov Palin would have been going head to head with Obie over energy policy, the cost of gas and Drill Baby Drill.

Likewise. Saw her mentioned on FR before she was picked by McCain. I remember being excited about her once I had done some reading.

I don’t think she would have necessarily been nowhere, she still may have emerged, but for many, myself included, she was pretty much unknown till McCain picked her. There was a very slight buzz of “possible candidates” a couple days before the pick and I found myself thinking, “haven’t heard of her”.

In MA he is considered a Republican because we’re so far to the left. MA Republicans have included Scott Brown, Romney,
Bill Weld, Ed Brooke, Paul Cellucci, Jane Swift...in other words RINOs to the rest of the country but here you will find those on the left (most of the state) regarding Romney and for that matter Scott Brown being regarded as far right.

The Dems painted Brown as being “...a Republican. Who will vote in lockstep with the Republican party” in ads that ran
before he was elected. (”Republican” may as well as been called “Nazi” in those ads). The Dem establishment is saying
“Brown has voted 87 per cent of the time with the GOP”. (If this is so that maybe he IS no RINO). They are making it sound like Brown, as they made it sound with Romney, is a true hardcore conservative.

Again, this is Massachusetts. We re-elected Barney Frank.
What does that tell you? Deval Patrick was re-elected governor (with the help of a former Dem, “straw” candidate)
despite some negative numbers. There could have been enough doubt about him, enough to elect Charley Baker governor. Baker would be considered a RINO in most of the country. In MA, he was painted as too-extreme right.

This isn’t America. It’s Massachusetts.

We all recognize that the the MSM does push liberal Republicans and tries to sell the idea that those liberals are conservatives.

The point I’m making is that Palin wouldn’t have been one of those favored candidates if she wasn’t picked by McCain. I’m not saying that McCain picking her made her a favored candidate.

And I think you recognize that point, you seem to be saying something similar.

If Palin wasn’t selected by McCain, the main difference between that scenario and the situation we have now, is that Palin would not be the most famous Republican running and the Republican with the highest very favorable ratings running.

She’d be unknown, and would have no money, and the MSM wouldn’t talk about her because she wouldn’t be on the list of RINOs they want us to pick. None of those things are “top tier”. People would be just starting to figure out about her right now. She’d be in the same ballpark as Cain, except if Palin was in that first debate a month ago, people would be saying “who is this Palin”? instead of talking about Cain.

That’s ok.

“Would you be more likely to vote for Palin or less likely to vote for Palin if Bill Kristol is saying nice things about her.”

Less likely.

From your link...She’s using History and interjecting it into the minds of those watching....quite the impact..

.....Paul Revere... after visiting Old North Church in the North End, she said he had warned that the British were coming to make sure “we were going to be secure and free, and we were going to be armed.’’.....“You’ve got to know a lot about our past in order to know how to proceed successfully into the future,’’ she said.

At the storied church, Palin sat in a pew traditionally reserved for governors and, accompanied by the vicar, Stephen T. Ayers, climbed to the steeple where Revere had lanterns displayed to warn of the approaching British assault in 1775.

You have a good point here:

He [Romney] is still defending Romneycare while trying to take on Obamacare. That is NOT going to be an easy sell.

Didn’t 0bama already thank Romney? For breaking the ice or paving the way or something like that?

Serious question: Have enough Massholes emigrated to NH to corrupt the voter pool? Surely they are not numerou enough to put Mitt in contention? Please tell me, I can take it.

This is a New England phenomenon, Massholes fleeing their foundering Commonwealth seem suicidally bent on re-establishing in the surrounding states the socialist politics that made it sink.

Vermont gets the double-whammy. Nooyawkuz from the West, Massholes from the South. Not even our Holy Maine is immune, protected as we are by only a narrow string of NH liquor stores and outlet malls. And we are lucky, I guess, in that we seem to get a sort of higher-state-pensioned Masshole, who may not be classy enough for the swanky zones of Cape Cod, but trust me, is generally still several cuts above the truly obnoxious Massholes who make it here for the summer. They don't bring enough money for us to put up with them!

Speaking of money: Maine deserves reparations. We were kept as slaves until 1820, when the Congregationalists finally gave up on us after ripping off our natural resources. We want Reparations, Global Warming, and Forty Acres and a Mule. No Justice. No Peace.

Who knows. I looked up 08 primary for North Massachusetts—
er, New Hampshire

Juan McCain—37% (88,713)
Mitt Romneycare—31.5% (75,675)
Gomer “Suckabee” Pyle—11.2% (26,916)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire_Republican_primary,_2008

Other candidates in the running in NH in 08 included Thompson, Ron Paul (18,000 votes), Giuliani, Hunter, Keyes,
Tancredo, and someone named “Vermin Supreme”

>>Vermin Supreme is a political activist and political candidate in the United States. Supreme is known for wearing a boot shaped hat and carrying a large toothbrush. He claims that if elected President of the United States he will pass a law requiring people to brush their teeth.Supreme claims to mock the political system.

Mr Supreme got 40 votes.
