WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) President Romney. How does that sound?
Better than President Gingrich, President Pawlenty or even President Palin? You betcha. Why? Because for all his flip-flopping and lack of charisma, Mitt Romney is a serious person an adult in todays political parlance with a real track record of accomplishment.
This week, Romney actually showed what any serious Republican hopeful in the 2012 presidential election campaign needs to show: the beginnings of a backbone.
It looks like Romney may have flipped his last flop on what is supposed to be the bane of his existence, the statewide health-care plan he signed into law when he was governor of Massachusetts.
In an interview with the Boston Globe, Romney refused to back down or recant, even though many members of the Republican Party now regard government-mandated health care as the devils own work.
Im proud of the fact we took on a real tough problem and moved the ball forward, Romney told the Globe. I know this is going to get a lot of conversation, but the health of the people in Massachusetts is more important to me than the health of my political prospects.

I was speaking about Romney’s ability to win the race. Bob Dole is a great american, but boring as heck, same as Romney.
open season :-)
LOL.
HA! I'll fix that.Because...Mitt Romney HERMAN CAIN is a serious person an adult in todays political parlance with a real track record of accomplishment.
Mega Barf!
Romney’s track record is his problem. His major accomplishments include $50.00 abortions on demand, tax payer funded abortion, abortion for minors without parental knowledge or consent as long as judge says ok, homosexual marriage, RomneyCare bankrupting Massachusetts, RomneyCare the blue print for ObamaCare, etc, etc, etc.
Yeah, Bob Dole was really dull....not like that show-boating, sparkler Bill Clinton. Denigrating a gentleman, war hero and true conservative like Bob Dole, makes you look ridiculous.
But I’m sure he’s very sorry for all he’s done and has learned his lesson. /sarc
And to add to that list, Romney recently said he was for ethanol subsidies.
That is Willard’s problem. Even if he wins the nomination, will Conservatives blindly hold their nose and vote for him? Will the Conservatives stay on the GOP establishment plantation just to avoid another four years of Obamanation? Will they embrace a flaming RINO at any cost to stop Obama?

Yeah... what my man Jim said!
Sorry.
Bob Dole didn't have Mass Care on his record.
More than makes up for hair deficit.
If Romney is the Republican candidate, it will be a replay of 1992. We need a conservative candidate to trounce the wordsmith we have in there right now. We need somebody of substance. The closest thing I see is Sarah Palin. Everything she says sounds like Ronald Reagan. The next best thing is Rick Santorum. He, unfortunately, doesn’t get the press she has but He’s as genuine. The rest of the current field leaves us in a quandary.
You bring up some excellent question(s). Therein lies the rub.
Voting McCain was easy for me once Palin got on the ticket. Don’t know that Romney would be that smart.
