President Romney? Mitt is GOP’s best shot (Barf Alert)

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — President Romney. How does that sound?

Better than President Gingrich, President Pawlenty or even President Palin? You betcha. Why? Because for all his flip-flopping and lack of charisma, Mitt Romney is a serious person — an “adult” in today’s political parlance — with a real track record of accomplishment.

This week, Romney actually showed what any serious Republican hopeful in the 2012 presidential election campaign needs to show: the beginnings of a backbone.

It looks like Romney may have flipped his last flop on what is supposed to be the bane of his existence, the statewide health-care plan he signed into law when he was governor of Massachusetts.

In an interview with the Boston Globe, Romney refused to back down or recant, even though many members of the Republican Party now regard government-mandated health care as the devil’s own work.

“I’m proud of the fact we took on a real tough problem and moved the ball forward,’’ Romney told the Globe. “I know this is going to get a lot of conversation, but the health of the people in Massachusetts is more important to me than the health of my political prospects.’’

“with a real track record of accomplishment”

What kind of moral and political idiot thinks that’s what’s most important? What if you what he accomplished was bad? In that case, we might as well elect a Democrat, so long as they’re a talented, exeperienced, go-getter.

Lefties keep trying to push Romney since it would be a “standard” election, where they will push the idea that he is for “big business” and “the rich” and they are for the “little guy”, i.e., non-white poor, white-union, non-white-union, revolution around the world, sexual deviants, promiscuity, drug abusers, educators, etc.

And they know that conservatives actually hate Romney, so Repub turnout will be low in support of Romney.

They also know that Romney’s record is essentially Democrat-lite, so it can’t differentiate himself from nObama enough to get votes from the middle.

The Repub establishment also is thinking of a “standard” election (that’s all Dem and Repub establishment types think is ever going to be valid). So they keep clinging to Romney cuz he’s “next in line”.

We’ve got better than ok in Palin. If only the snob establishment, i.e., George Will, Krauthammer, Rove, would finally stand behind her.

What they (Repub establishment) don’t realize is that THEY are the ones costing the next election for the GOP. THEY are the problem.

but the health of the people in Massachusetts is more important to me than the health of my political prospects.’’

The fact that he does not see the 2 inherent mistakes in that statement are what doom him to be a footnote in American political history.

“I’m proud of the fact we took on a real tough problem and moved the ball forward,’’ Romney told the Globe. “I know this is going to get a lot of conversation, but the health of the people in Massachusetts is more important to me than the health of my political prospects.’’

Socialism was first a political system before it was an economic system. It was the concept in the 1840s that Government's purpose was to tend to social ills and needs.

Prior to that, Government was to repesent the soverign people or king, establish general order and beginning in the seventeenth century to protect persons and property by the "rule of law" (which was really to limit the use of arbitrary power.)

Romney, while probably uncomfortable with the economic requirements of socialism, the scheme that was promulgated as the only method strong enough to pay for the politcal goals, is happy with accepting the political goals.
