State election officials on Tuesday approved recall elections against three Republican senators Tuesday but put off decisions on certifying recall petitions against three Democrats
In April, Dane County Circuit Judge John W. Markson agreed to extend the deadline on calling the elections until this Friday.
Now, board officials plan to return to court to ask for another extension because they say they cant meet the Friday deadline for the three Democrats. Falk said a court hearing was likely Wednesday or Thursday, and at that time the board will request permission to certify any additional recall elections next week.
The board had been working under a plan to hold all recall elections on July 12. If there were more than one challenger in any race, the July 12 election would become a primary, and the general recall election would be Aug. 9.
If the judge agrees to the new deadline, and the board found recall elections should be held against the Democrats, those elections would be held a week later on July 19. If there were multiple challengers, the July 19 election would become a primary and the general recall election would be Aug. 16.

‘Rats just gotta be ‘rats.
I would be using more profane language for describing RAT thugs/goons.
The GOP in Wisconsin needs to step it up by focusing on not only defending those members who didn’t run from the State in deriliction of their duty, but also work on removing those who did.
They must also humble themselves and work closely with legitimate, local TEA party people who are not part of the GOP.
Let’s make the Unions waste more money on this fight and have it, once again, be for nought!
Here is the statement on the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board website
Statement on Status of Recall Petitions
Date:
May 27, 2011
MADISON, WI The Government Accountability Board will not be considering all of the six remaining recall petitions when it meets on Tuesday, May 31.
Petition challenges filed by the incumbents in Senate Districts 8, 12, 22 and 30 (Darling, Holperin, Wirch and Hansen) have raised numerous factual and legal issues which need to be investigated and analyzed by agency staff prior to consideration by the Government Accountability Board members. Because of the strong likelihood that any finding of sufficiency or insufficiency by the Board will be appealed to a circuit court, it is imperative that the issues raised by these challenges are fully examined, and that a complete record is created for a court to consider.
As a result, only the recall petitions and challenges for Senate Districts 2, 8 and 10 (Cowles, Darling and Harsdorf) will be ready for the Board at its meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31. The Board will not be able to meet to consider recall petitions and challenges in Senate Districts 12, 22 and 30 until later in the week of June 6. This unavoidable delay, and possible court appeals, may result in a change to the tentatively-scheduled recall election date of July 12, 2011. That date was set more than one week before incumbents filed the four significant challenges.
Board staff has been in discussion with its attorney from the Wisconsin Department of Justice about next steps before the court-ordered June 3 deadline for the Board to determine the sufficiency of the recall petitions and order elections. No decisions have been made yet about when the recall elections may be held, or whether the Board will still be able to achieve its goal of holding some or all the recall elections concurrently. Elections in Senate Districts 14, 18 and 32 (Olsen, Hopper and Kapanke) considered by the Board on May 23 have not yet been officially ordered.
Board staff has and will continue to be working overtime on the large task of examining more than 200,000 signatures submitted on 30,748 pages of petitions, and analyzing the voluminous challenges, affidavits, and rebuttals submitted by the nine recall committees and incumbents. That includes working over the Memorial Day weekend. Copies of the petitions, challenges, rebuttals and other documents are all available on the G.A.B. website: http://gab.wi.gov/elections-voting/recall . Under the section Active Senate Recall Committees, click on the individual committee names to access the documents.
This nationally-unprecedented wave of recall activity has occurred at the same time the Board and its staff have been administering the statewide Spring Election and Special Elections in three Assembly districts, supervising a statewide recount for Supreme Court Justice, and preparing for implementation of Wisconsins new voter photo ID law.
The Board anticipated difficulty in dealing with this unprecedented workload, and on March 10, 2011, requested a supplemental appropriation of $40,800 from the Joint Committee on Finance under Section 13.10 to acquire the necessary resources to review, analyze and determine the sufficiency of numerous legislative recall petitions. The Committee has not yet acted on the Boards request.
The agenda and Board materials for the Tuesday, May 31 meeting will be available on the website at http://gab.wi.gov/about/meetings/2011/may-31-special
The corruption drags on.
Thanks for not caring Wisconsin. :)
They are right down to their speed traps. Beware.
At some point people will likely turn to guns to deal with the model the Media/Left is now using.
If the political voice of the people is manipulated as to take away their rights, then I would guess someone will decide that force is an acceptable alternative.
I’m not endorsing violence AT ALL - but how far will the games of political censorship go before someone move to this alternative?
I never venture that far north...
I view this as actually good news, since if it stands the GOP will be able to tie-up the whole mess in a 14th Amendment suit in Federal court.
You ain’t missing nothing, the best of the north is above all those liberal cities etc, near the Canada border.
Say “Ya” to do U.P., eh!
Say “Ya” to da U.P., eh!
How so? Our people will happily vote in two separate elections. Democrat welfare chiselers and lazy union goons will find it hard to put down the bong and get off the couch even for one.
The Dems will bus, pay and command (unions) Rat voters. The GOP will exhort and urge attendance and a percentage of those voters will vote once, but not twice in two weeks IMO.
It's easy to say "Ya" during the summer but during the winter I think I'll stay in the south.
Here, here on the winter-summer bit. That is why we are now in the Green Bay area (the deep south by Houghton standards) and head further north in July. After living for many years in the U.P., I laugh when people in Green Bay complain about the “harsh” winters - but its all relative of course.
Take care!
Well I’m a yankee in Tennessee, I was raised in the very southern part of Michigan so I know a little bit about the weather up there. I would have to agree with you, you are in the warm part of Wisconsin.
