When the Democratic talking-heads say: "Sarah Palin did not finish out her term as goveror..." Someone needs to remind them that Barack Obama did not finish out 1/10 of his term as U.S. Senator before he began running for President.

In the 2008 election two young Obamabots came to my house to discuss things. Twice actually.

My goal wasn't to engage them seriously but to detain them and keep them from visiting others who might believe them.

In any case at one point I asked them to point to one successful, profitable government program.

Without batting an eye they shot back...

Any accusation that is not addressed will be presumed true. This is not the 18th century House of Burgesses. Ladies and Gentlemen get steamrollered in this climate. We may not like it, but a side-effect of near universal suffrage is an inevitable coarsening of the process. A lot of good men will not go near the process for that reason. Palin has already been through the wringer and is ready for more. No Ed Muskie, she.

I dont have an opinion as to if she SHOULD run or not RUN because that would be irrelevent, just that she isnt running. Are you saying you will be surprised when she decides to announce it?

Yes she quit.. but

The governor was being harrassed 24/7. It was a major distraction, and a major, major expense on a family with middle class assets.

She was being harrassed by none other than the very 1960s Marxist-Alinsky street/campus revolutionary rabble and their ideological issue -- the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) who now harrass her for resigning the governorship.

She quit because of them! to try to end the harrassment and take them on face-to-face as a PRIVATE citizen unencumbered by public responsibilities. It was not fair to the citizens of Alaska.. they needed and she stepped aside for a full time governor.

That's the way I heard it.

We can say what she has said.

Lawsuits started coming at her left and right and if she had stayed more and more would have come and she would have been spending ALL her time fighting them and not able to be efficient as the Governor. She said she knew her Lieutenant Governor held the same principles as she did and he would do a good job for Alaska.
