I’m having de-ja-vou about that time I had amnesia about 15 minutes ago.
The same article already has a thread going on it, same picture. Up to about 50 replied now, very few of them complimentary of the first lady’s “outfit”.
The Princess, on the other hand, looks stunning. I want that dress.
Following the 3rd paragraph of the article is a link to enter to win the dress. There wasn't a link to win Michelle's dress. I can't imagine why.
I believe the logical explanation is that Kate’s dress used 1 yard of material at $50/yd and Moose’s used 34 yards to cover her “ample” assets.

actually, 3000 dollars is not high for a well fitted dress.
Women’s dresses rarely fit most of us, and unlike Men’s suits, they don’t alter them for free (my mother used to work at home altering dresses for rich ladies).
I mean Obama wears 3000 dollar suits, not those from JC Penney, and the last time Michelle visited the Queen, she wore a JC Crew teeshirt and the Brits made fun of her, and now she wears a good dress and they still make fun of her.

I read that she receives duplicates in various custom-sized designer pieces, thus under-valuating the true cost.

I couldn’t afford J. Crew. I barely afford Penny’s mark down rack IF I shopped for dress clothes there, which I don’t. Because all they have is what Moochelle wears type dresses.
Nor would I at 60+ be caught in one of these OVER priced ‘barely’ dresses. There isn’t $30 worth of material in most of the dresses. Cheapest was $59 and all it was was a tube with elastic at the top to hold it up.
