FCC slow to publish neutrality rules
PoliticObama ^ | May 26th | ELIZA KRIGMAN

Opponents itching to upend the FCC’s controversial net neutrality rules can forget about doing so anytime soon.

The commission adopted the controversial net neutrality order five months ago — and it may be another five months before the rules are published in the Federal Register. The delay, say FCC officials, has to do with the sheer complexity of implementing the order.

This is politico, so we have to do a bit of reading between the lines. I mean, they're defenders of big government. Obama, the FCC, whoever it is they're defending.

Anyways, I expect the first round of regs to be fairly bland. The second round will be even worse, the third round will likely be the ones delivered by an iron fist. Who knows, they may do it in six steps. The only thing that's fully predictable is that progressives can't help themselves. They consolidate government power.

Egads, not another 2000 page bill that "we have to pass so we can see what's in it".

I know there are supporters of "Net Neutrality" on this forum, but this alone should scare you.

FCC slow to publish neutrality rules

No doubt that’s because Comcast and Verizon have throttled them down to 14.4KB/S. LOL!

Cute ~ but true!

One of the problems people who try to practice fascism in America have is issuing rules. In your more traditional authoritarian nations you just say "Hey, I want so and so and those people are public enemies" and the existing authoritarian structures reach and strangle people as appropriate to the issue at hand.

The fascists are always happy enough to have "compliance" in terms of public silence.

Like Obama and his running dog lackeys your fascists can't handle criticism so they always try to kill off their critics.

Since we don't have an authoritarian tradition (like most of Europe, all of Africa, and certainly Latin America) the fascists end up being frustrated ~ it takes more than a diktat ~ they must write rules first, and in DC there are only so many really good rule writers. Some are lawyers, some are not, but they are all busy and have their limits.

Writing regulations is a little more boring than watching paint dry ~ and management never appreciates it ~ but somebody's got to do it. When it comes to something like the bizarre notion of "net neutrality" which will put tornado warnings way in the back of the line after "health care by Michelle", it takes a LOT OF RULES ~ and I think the FCC punks done run through their supply.

For the most part an agency like the FCC does little more than "rule maintenance" making small adjustments here and there to keep up with the times, or a new law. Now, given the assignment to write rules to regulate the internet infrastructure and content sequencing, they just don't have enough people for the job.

The top dog over there who wants this done is likely astounded that the FCC doesn't have enough writers for what he views as a SIMPLE job ~ which it would be if we had an authoritarian society ~ but we don't have that society, and people can go to court, complain to Congresscritters, and otherwise communicate in new and diverse ways, internet or not.

Their heads are exploding and the whole idea of net neutrality is doing a slow motion crash to the editing floor.

Obastard has no intention of going through Congress. He is, once again, abusing the power of the executive branch to achieve what he cannot get through the legislative branch.

A most excellent analysis. Our next step needs to be chasing these fascists down dark alleys and beating them about the head and shoulders with hard Italian salamis.

I’m tired of messing around with stuff like letters of protest and Data Quality objections.

PS - If you leave your Italian salami hanging on the clothesline in the hot sun for 7 days, it becomes more lethal and smellier. Any days beyond that and you end up with jerky.
