A Wisconsin judge has struck down a law taking away nearly all collective bargaining rights from most state workers.
Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi ruled Thursday that Republican legislators violated Wisconsin's open meetings law during the run up to passage. She says that renders the law void.

I guess she didn’t notice the results of the Supreme Court election.

I bet she’s a liberal judge.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court will eventually rule on this. Even though the Wisconsin Supreme Court judge election was certified, the Dem. loser there has until May 31st to file a lawsuit regarding that election. We’ll see what happens.

She's so special and powerful!

The state Supreme Court has scheduled arguments for June 6 to determine whether it will take the same case.
Lawmakers could also pass the law again in order to nullify open meeting concerns that led to the judge's ruling Thursday.

I sense that there is a developing liberal view that the Supreme Court election was stolen from the Democrats. They have until May 31st to file a lawsuit regarding that election.

Its telling - voided on procedural issue, not constitutionality ...
Just pass it again ...

Keep in mind there was no open meetings law violation.
Just a small detail.

Hubby is an environmental lawyer who donated to the Kloppenberg campaign. Son is a bigwig at SEIU and has worked at the AFL-CIO.
Judge Sumi is compromised and should have excused herself from this case.

Not unexpected.
If I was Walker I would have a special session in June now to pass a cleaner bill and force the Dems to take the vote or leave the State before the recalls.
If that one is rendered void by Sumi I would abolish all State unions after the recall elections.

Lawmakers could also pass the law again in order to nullify open meeting concerns... If I were those lawmakers...I'd have an ad in tomorrow's Wisconsin Whiner Gazette advertising the upcoming meeting set to pass this law AGAIN!
Dot the i's and cross the t's this time.

Can she be removed via a recall or other proceeding for a conflict of interest? If so how can the process be started.
