The Brits panned Obamas empty speech today to Parliament. The Telegraph reported:
The pictures were better than the words
Perhaps Mr Obama was smothered also by his audience, which remained stubbornly unresponsive. For most of the time the President had nothing to bounce off: no applause and certainly no shouts of praise or blame as might be heard in an American church or at an American political rally.
The presidential text sounded as if it had been worked on so hard and conscientiously by a vast team of helpers that it had lost all savour, and been reduced to a series of orotund banalities, of the sort which can be heard at every tedious Anglo-American conference: Profound challenges stretch out before us the time for our leadership is now Our alliance will remain indispensable.
It did not help to hear Mr Obama assert, after only a minute or two, that fortunately its been smooth sailing between Britain and the United States ever since 1812, when we burned down the White House. Everyone present will have been able to think of occasions when this was not so. Suez did not seem like plain sailing.
Applause did break out when Mr Obama observed that its possible for the sons and daughters of former colonies to sit as Members of Parliament, and for the grandson of a Kenyan who served as a cook in the British Army to stand before you as the President of the United States.
Of course, Obama had to talk about himself Even in front of the British Parliament.
At least, now they know firsthand what weve been suffering through these past three years. Empty words and far left failed policies.

When a klutz like Obama speaks to the UK Parliament whose worst member has public speaking abilities orders of magnitude of our loon-O-dent, it is indeed a moment of great embarrassment for we citizens of the U.S.
UK, remember when the spice bimbos apologized for Bush?
Well, it’s now time for those of us here with measurable IQs to apologize to the UK for the....thing...that currently infects our White House.
Not a ‘pan’.
The article was full of treacle.
Here it is.
Parliament is racist.
Alleluia! Can I get an "AMEN!" for brother Barry?
I like it.
I guess TOTUS was on the fritz. Close ups of NOBAMA show his now prominent facial hair-mustache & something on lower lip.
Doesnt he know the American people never elect men with beards or mustaches?
Why then? Do I even want to know the answer?
FWIW He doesn’t look well or healthy at all. Aged a whole lot since 08.
PING for later read.
I’m convinced that he will lose it if he’s pressed enough. Look at how he can barely control himself as it is. Mockery is what I think would be great.
The old White House FReeps would be great.
It was pretty unfair for Parliament to determine who would be in the audience, instead of allowing the DNC to select them. No wonder he didn’t get the applause he is accustomed to in the US.
I really like the description “orotund banalities”. It aptly describes his ineptitude.
This article is curiously passive-aggressive, sort of like Ubama. Say something not so nice, then say something nice, then something a little snide, then something nice. Probably more nice stuff here, but there are a few nice digs at our teleprompter in chief.
Their mention of all the photographs and how wonderful they are without any way to actually see them was another mean thing about this article.
On the whole, my preference is to be abused by people who are passive aggressive rather than newspaper articles but I’ll take what I can get.
Memo to Brits:
We don’t like him, either.
Any Brit on any street would give a better speech than our unskilled, inarticulate president.
