May 25, 2011 Jews in Name Only By Ben Shapiro 5/25/2011
In 2008, Obama grabbed 78 percent of the Jewish vote. Even the most wildly optimistic polling today shows that Obama's support remains high among Jews. It's a result that Republicans simply can't understand -- why do so many Jews continue to support a president who has shown time and again that he stands against the State of Israel? Why the reflexive lever-pulling on behalf of a man who appoints anti-Semites to positions of high power, attends a virulently anti-Semitic church for 20 years, and sees Israel as the cause of the West's conflict with the Muslim world?
The answer is deceptively simple: the Jews who vote for Obama are, by and large, Jews In Name Only (JINOs). They eat bagels and lox; they watch "Schindler's List"; they visit temple on Yom Kippur -- sometimes. But they do not care about Israel. Or if they do, they care about it less than abortion, gay marriage and global warming.

Apparently, to most American Jews, the only really important thing is what people think of you in Synogogue.
This sound likes Al Sharpton’s complaint that blacks who vote the “wrong” way are race traitors. Much as I hate this kind of smear, this attempt to brand any Jew who dares criticize Bibi actually borders on a form of anti-semiticism.
Good question. Just who are they talking about when they say "Jews". Is it a nationality? Can't be because there are Jews of Many different nationalities. Is it a religion? Seems so because you can convert to Judaism, except many who call themselves Jews are non-religious. Do you have to support the current Israeli government to be a Jew? That doesn't make any sense.
It is a good question that should be answered at least to the extent the classification as a "jew" is used in a poll.
I had a "free" membership with a Reform synagogue because I volunteered my IT services for them. I only attended services there one time, and that only time the Rabbi brought up crime and gun control during his sermon. I never went back, though I continued to do volunteer work there for a few more years before I simply didn't have to time to donate any more.
I was raised in an Orthodox home, and went to a Jewish day school. I have very strong views and opinions on Judaism, and respect those who have made the commitment to be Orthodox, but frankly, I'm simply too lazy to be observant. When I do go to services, which isn't often at all, I go to a local Chabad House, which reminds me of the joy I saw in my Schul when I was growing up.

They confuse Tikkun olam with Marxism.

Are you saying that any Jew who does not bow down and worship “his excellency” Bibi as the perfect man is a not really a Jew?

Growing up in the SW and early adulthood in the Midwest, the Jews that I knew were real Jews and were great people.
Then, we spent close to a decade on the East Coast following the Cuban Missile crisis. It seemed the only Jews, we ran into were whining/anti America/liberal losers.
Then, we moved to the West Coast in the 1970’s, and I got to know a couple of real Jews. I became friends with a them. One of them explained to me that the people we knew on the East Coast and would meet on the West Coast were JINOs. He despised them and said that they hated being Jews and turned that hate into hating America and what was right in America.
Since, then I have gotten to know a few other real Jews. They too have problems with the JINOs trying to represent their faith and Israel.
JINOS, CINOS and RINOS are miserable and rotten people. Their inner core is what the DNC stands for. Never trust them!
Not really, remember he's talking about "Jewish Identity." What you mention, "love of God ( who is the *one* and only God) and then ones neighbor, as ones self" would be what makes one a decent human being, no matter what religion. Remember, one of the most serious "punishments" that The Lord ever visited on the Jewish people was having Israel conquered, The Temple destroyed, and the people expelled from the land.

Judaism, to me, is a nationality - a people. A family. Converts are ‘adopted’ into the family.
Yes. It’s what happened to the Irish. They arrived as Catholics, then converted to the Democrat religion.
You have to be careful with holocaust survivors. Many of them have ‘issues’. They tend to flip-out over anything.
For example, had a really old guy Jewish neighbor once. He’s walking up the stairs with several bags of groceries. I said, “Let me help you with that.” He starts screaming that he doesn’t want any help. Ok... I backed off and followed him up to my floor. When he gets to his door he collapsed breathing heavy and dropped the groceries everywhere. I’m asking, Are you alright? Thinking I might have to call 911. He starts yelling, GO AWAY! GO AWAY! Then he covers the groceries on the floor like a turtle, opens his door, and starts scooping them into his apartment like a dog would dig a hole. He was crawling all over the floor covering whatever groceries he found screaming GO AWAY.
That was when I realized that he thought I was trying to steal his food. That’s when I knew he had been in the holocaust. I never came near him again. Some survivors have issues and it is best to just leave them alone. They are beyond help.
I have known several survivors who blame the Jews for the holocaust. If they had been nicer or if they had done this or that, the holocaust would not have happened.
And they typically HATE Israel, Hebrew, Converts, non-Jews, and observant Jews. They prefer stealth Judaism so as to not annoy the goyim. Obviously, they pass this form of antisemitism on to their children.
That has been my life experience anyway.
So, no. I am not really surprised by any of this.
So you are now an authority on who is a Jew and who is not a Jew eh? Where did not get your rabbinical degree?
So the answer that is hard to understand, is actually the most easy to recognize - self interest.
I really don't think that's it... Every liberal Jew is know (including nearly every member of my family) would fall under the category of "useful idiot," partly because of a complete misunderstanding (engineered by the "puppet masters") of the Jewish concept of "Tikkun Olam," or "Heal the World." They honestly mean well, and most are very generous with their time and money, giving to charities and special projects. Most of these actually do good. For instance, every one of my retired cousins spend at least 1 day a week delivering for meals on wheels. Another is a delivery driver for the Red Cross, picking up people who need transportation but can't get to where they need to go. Every one of them volunteer at hospitals, missions, or the Salvation Army on major Christian holidays to give the regular volunteers the day off. They participate regularly in hunger drives, etc...
They do alot of good, but they believe that by voting leftist, they're doing a good thing too.

Agreed. They will all vote for Obama again. I have never understood the attitude of the Jews. Sometimes it seems like the Christians love Israel more than the jews do. My fiancee’ is Jewish and he says its self loathing. They are all waiting for the next Holocaust. He is infuriated by it.

Christianity is a sect of Judaism. Therefor we are all Jews.
Does she like anyone?

The impression I have of most Jews, who don’t support Israel, is that they don’t believ Israel should exist because either that they thought the Diaspora was supposed to be permanent or that they only will support an Israel that can be at peace with its neighbours, even if those neighbours won’t be at peace with her.
