CAIN: It is the plus for the following reasons, Sean. No matter what business venture I took over or what situation I took over, the approach to problem solving was the same. And I happen to believe that this approach to problem solving would work in government. Number one, make sure you are working on the right problem. Number two, make sure you set the right priorities. And in government, that means that you put the money where you want priorities to be. Number three, surround yourself with the right people. Number four, if you do that, you're going to be able to put together the right plans. Then you execute.
The problem in Washington, D.C. is that they don't do that. It is most reactive rather than proactive in terms of solving problems. Americans want problems to be solved. And here is the good news, it is not rocket science. People are looking for common sense solutions. And that's what I have been talking about. And that's what is resonating with so many people across this country.

PINGANATOR!!
> It is most reactive rather than proactive in terms of solving problems.
EXACTLY!!
I plan to be voting for Herman in the NH primary.
Amazing what some common sense, intelligence and ambition can do. I agree 100% Mr. Cain, it is not rocket science.
“Herman Cain: Solving America’s Problems ‘Not Rocket Science’
Bring in a dollar; spend 99 cents or less
It’s not rocket science, but getting people to do what’s best for the country, rather than for themselves, will be next to impossible.
The leftists need problems.
“The leftists need problems.”

Yes, and if they didn’t have any, most of them would be like many other Americans and out of a job.
Will the media be able to play the race card against Herman Cain? Will they say he is not black enough? That he is an Eskimo Pie...black on the outside, but white on the inside?
Herman is man enough to handle anything the msm throws at him.
And if he doesn’t handle it right the first time, he’s man enough to own up to it, correct it, and slam dunk it from then on out. I think people love that refreshing honesty.
Yup. Herman understands Reagan. “Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.” Ronald Reagan
Very true. If Herman’s ideas and vision were not enough to attract those of us on the Right, his demeanor and honesty could sell themselves.
Stole that line from Ross, next he will be under the hood.
Cain did an excellent job here.
Compare:
Cain, a businessman who is not yet POTUS, was unfamiliar with the lingo (tho not the principles involved in) “right of return.”
Obama, who actually is POTUS, was completely ignorant of the fact that if he stood up and said that Israel should return to its 1967 borders, he was going to get slammed like roadkill.
BTW, a little o/t, but saw that Jake Tapper tweeted today that Bibi missed his high school graduation in 1967 BECAUSE HE WAS FIGHTING IN THE SIX-DAY WAR.
“Will the media be able to play the race card against Herman Cain?”
They will probably try the ‘Uncle Tom’ role as they tried with Clarence Thomas.
Yes.
The thing Cain knows very well is his principles. He can learn the lingo and get up to speed on how to communicate his policy positions.
But he’s already developed and internalized and lived his principles.
That’s way more valuable than being able (or willing) to pretend to “know” the superficial lingo of a situation.
The more interesting question is whether the black community will have even a partial political realignment if the election were Obama v. Cain.
wonderful! Please tell all your neighbors to too.
Our current problems exist because one side constantly lies about reality, and the other side is too scared to confront reality. Until both side are willing to accept reality, the problems will not be solved.
