Ousted ex-Honduran President Manuel Zelaya inked an accord Sunday with the country's current president that will allow him to return to Honduras after almost two years in exile, officials said.

The deal, which was brokered by the Colombian and Venezuelan governments, was signed in Cartagena, Colombia, by Zelaya and Honduran President Porfirio Lobo.

It allows Zelaya and his allies to return to Honduras and helps clear the way for the country to rejoin the Organization of American States. Zelaya and his supporters will also be permitted to participate in Honduran politics.

Zelaya was overthrown in a military-led coup June 28, 2009, and flown into exile....

There was no coup...that is a fantasy of the US State Department and ignorant media. Change was in accord with the Honduran Constitution!

@#$%! This agreement will be the death of Honduran democracy. Obama's and Hillary's evil hands are involved in this somewhere. The US has pressed steadily for the return of the would be dictator.

CNN, You LIE!!!!

Zelaya was removed from office after attempting, in violation of his country's constitution, to alter that constitution. Specifically, he attempted to have himself elected to a third term of office.

It’s going to wind up just like it did when the Ayatollah Khomeini was allowed to return to Iran.

That's a distinct possibility.

BTW, search FR titles for "Zelaya" ... the whole tale is still in our archives. Where else but FR will we find such an easily searched record of the truth of such matters?

"It’s going to wind up just like it did when the Ayatollah Khomeini was allowed to return to Iran."

And an American President was responsible for that, too. Isn't it strange how much chaos is caused by the so called peace loving left in the US?

Actually Zelaya's attempted coup of the constitutional government was thwarted by the constitutional government and the military.

They should have handled it, like Pinochet handled Allende.

Your turn.

They got this Zelaya anus on tape stealing currency from the treasury. They gonna try him for that?

BTW, Zelaya and Obama share a parliamentary trick ... he wouldn't let a budget pass, either. And when the Honduran congress overruled him, he wouldn't pass any spending bills.

The SoS under Obama, behaved abominably during the Honduran Crisis, backing the crooked Zelaya all the way!Just like Obama, Zelaya is a friend of Lula and the commie slut who took over for him, Morales, Chavez, and of course, The Brothers Castro. What he tried to do was stay on as President for Life. The Honduran Congress and the Honduran Supreme court enforced their Constitution, and the Military arrested him and exiled him. 2 salient facts: (1) Zelaya is an idiot, pathologically so. (2) There's only one successful treatment for dangerous wack-jobs. The legitimate Hondurans chose mercy. Maybe more rigorous therapy would have been better, at the risk of creating a new Left-Wing Martyr.
