Via Michael OBrien at The Hill: Gingrich: Im not a Washington figure
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said he doesnt view himself as a Washington figure, positioning himself as an anti-D.C. candidate in his campaign for president.
Gingrich railed against the Washington establishment in a breakfast Monday hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, claiming the mantle of the change candidate in the field of GOP presidential aspirants.
Im not a Washington figure, despite the years Ive been here, Gingrich said. Im essentially an American whose ties are across the country and is interested in how you change Washington, not how you make Washington happy.
Malkin's respone:
Heres anti-establishment, not-a-Washington-figure Gingrich sidling up to Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Al Sharpton, because nothing says Change! like teaming up with an unrepentant race hustler and an administration in the pocket of the nations obstructionist teachers unions:
Here he is cheesing it up with old friend Arianna Huffington earlier this year, because nothing says Anti-establishment! like relaxing with an ex-conservative-turned-crusading progressive mogul on the Amalfi coast:
And, of course, theres the photo at the top of this page because nothing says Washington outsider like a Couch Caress with Nancy Heartland Pelosi.

It will be interesting to see where Newt lands on the reality check chart (i.e. the time between his announcement and the time he realizes he’s toast).
The Newt “SELF-DELUSION 2011 TOUR” rolls on unabated.
Despite all of Newt’s intelligence and academic skills — and I can’t deny he has those — he wrongly believes that the communications and messaging techniques of the early ‘90s still work today, and he can get away with the “big lie” by spinning it away.
It’s embarrassing, Newt. PLEASE, for your own good and ours, just shut up and go away.
If you were me, newt, this meeting wouldn't be going so amicably.
Newt is good at speaking from both sides of his mouth.
"Here, let me piss on your leg and tell you it's raining."
I’m wondering if he doesn’t have any close friends who can tell him the truth about himself. Just yes men?
Another, I was banging the young women because I love America moment.
To paraphrase Oliver Cromwell; "For too long have you sat here, I say unto you leave us, depart, for God's sake go!"
Regards,
TS
YES, he does, and they all live in his head. They tell him how great he is, brilliant in fact. YES men, and I am sure a few women live there as well.
NEWT is delusional, and should be seeking the help on another COUCH by a DR.
Newt go home
[ Im not a Washington figure, despite the years Ive been here, Gingrich said. ]
When NEWT SPITS ON YER SHOES.. like that comment..
The proper response would be “TO NOT” vote for him..
On the otherhand Newt would make a good Sec. of State..
