Frank Lindh calls his son a “young Nelson Mandela”. Delusional! I bet he believes Patty Murray’s description of Osama Bin Laden building schools, clinics, and day care centers. What a dhimmi!

As far as I´m concerned, this bastard was involved in the biting to death of CIA agent Johnny Mike Spann at Mazari Sharif. Hopefully he´ll yet be killed in prison.

Laz, you get it. If they can do it to this kid, they can do it to anybody.

Is this the same camp that the distinguished graduate, one Baraq Hussein 0bama, attended when he traveled to the region on his Indonesian passport?

He'd never risk breaking one of his finely manicured fingernails.

He's as big a traitor as Benedict Arnold and Tokyo Rose were.

John Walker Lindh is an ass, but the authorities declared him an UnPerson. They pretty much stripped him of all his Constitutional Protections, and that, people, worries me a lot more than a nutty kid with a Jihad fetish.

Well said.

Also, it could be very correct that he never participated in terrorism, even if he was a Taliban fighter.

And the "future crime" nature of firearms training should give pause to those who lawfully exercise their Second Amendment rights. Perhaps it's being applied appropriately now, but eternal vigilance is imperative.

To Mr Lindh give it up he is guilty and kidding yourself makes you look as nuts as your son. You should just think G-d that he wasn’t charged with treason and executed as I thiought he shoud’ve been.

“Frank Lindh calls his son a “young Nelson Mandela”.”

*****************

I’m glad we got him before he turned into a full grown Mandela with tire necklaces and all that.

"...biting to death of CIA agent Johnny Mike Spann ..."

What? "Biting to death"? What the hell?

John Walker Lindh’s father taught him to hate America. As far as I am concerned, he should be tried as complicit in the crimes of his son.

Sulayman al-Faris was captured in Afghanistan fighting on the side of the taliban and al qaeda. Before changing his name, he was John Lindh, and he STILL does not go by John Lindh. Only the media uses the name which he changed.

He prefers Abu Sulayman al-Irlandi today.

Sulayman described himself as al qaeda, and as an adherent of Osama bin Laden.

As far as I know, there is no evidence that he injured any Americans. There is solid evidence that he fought with and for the Congressionally designated enemies of the USA.

This would be no different than an American fighting for Germany against the USA during WWII. I fail to see why all the furor on Sulayman’s behalf.

Of interest is that prior to Sulayman’s conversion to Islam, his father left his mother to live with a San Francisco male lover. What sypathy I have for him is directed at a dad who royally screwed him up.

John Lindh should have been given the binLaden treatment. If his treasonous father doesn't like it, it can be arranged for him too.

Doesn't worry me a damn bit. Know what worries me? The memory hole where they dumped that moslem "secret service" agent from the Clinton era, apprehended with a loaded sidearm on his way to Crawford Texas shortly after 9/11, with no orders or papers, and a book about jihad on his seat in the airliner he was hauled off from. About twelve hours after his being arrested we never heard a single word about him again, until this very day.

John Lindh is small beer compared to the grim realities.

yes, the family needs your prayers. I mean, they allowed their underaged son to go to a wretched third world country to “learn” Arabic, without checking if he could learn it in a friendlier and cleaner place (e.g. Dubai, Stanford U, UCBerkeley)

but of course the editorial doesn’t mention that his son went off the deep end because daddy decided to divorce his wife and live with a male friend instead. Nah, just because he lied to a girl and married her girl to “cure” his impulses and then discard her and the kid when society told him it’s okay, doesn’t mean you did anything wrong that might have messed up your kid.

I’m not being sarcastic, because indeed the prayers are needed for some folks so they have insight on their own sins, so that they can repent.

He took up arms with an enemy and fought against U.S. forces. In WWII if an American was captured on the battlefield fighting for the Nazis he could lawfully have been summarily executed on the spot. He falls outside the Geneva definition of a POW, as he’s actually a foreign spy.

That’s not something “that could happen to any of us.”

He was offered a chance to come clean prior to the prison uprising that killed Mike Spann. He did not.

His sentence was a plea bargain also. So live with it.

American’s found fighting alongside the nazis were most often exterminated on the spot as Walker should have been.

This has eerie memories. Went through an old shoe box in my grandparents home and there was a letter from a family member in high German begging him to return to the fatherland( Hiel Hitler in parentheses) as it was his duty to family and country.

My gramps wanted to kill the Krauts, was in the ROTC cavalry 1st sgt at UC Berkely in the 20's and also a secret Jew( learned about that only a few years ago). Gram's said the y Germans would have family members write these letters mjaking it sound so swet and they'd read it, then send it then the censors in America would open certain letters and read it thn off to gramps or whomever.

In WWII America didn't want or need him and he was allegedly frustrated as could be as they needed docs. He still made in as an NCO from 1951-1959 . Guess this is too long but it's an interesting letter and I suppose now that most folks from that era are dying these letters will end up with little to no meaning because America doesn't teach real American history anymore. I do hope they teach still in the war colleges.
