Okay I am confused wouldn't this mean Obama isn't natural born if his dad wasn't a citizen? Or am I confused which could very well be.

If they are not Natural born, that is it.
If they are, than that it is.

We need to get each candidate to back up their credentials.

I don’t think most will have a problem with this and they shouldn’t.

Romney and Obama are NOT eligible, either.

America will follow its Constitution or go the
way of Roman Empire very quickly.

Did this suddenly become news because idiots who weren’t bothering to study the issue before now comprehend it?

I guarantee you; if either of these guys runs for president, they *will* be considered natural born. No court, no Congress will hold otherwise. And of course, that goes for Romney as well.

Nope, sorry, none of them are NBC. Run for Senate or Governor or dog catcher, but the POTUS is off limits. If the founding fathers ever needed an example of what they were guarding against, we have the current usurper terrorist. Yes, these two might be “good guys” but it a major safety net that is in place for a reason.

Have you noticed how many new names are suddenly posting on eligibility threads? Many have old sign up dates so they should have been involved in discussions at some point in the past three years, but I don’t recall seeing them. They come on and don’t have any clue on the research and never have source links other than Ark.

That said, new ideas and opinions are great and wonderful so more the merrier. I also don’t normally go by recent sign up dates much since I know some may be oldsters. But when an old sign up date shows up out of the blue, well, that just sends up red flags. There seems to be some agenda with this recent influx of the “NBC hasn’t been defined so birthers are wrong” posts. What’s your take on it?

This subject often seems to turn into a debate between those of us who are 50 and older and the youngsters. Those of us 50 and older were taught in school that one of the constitutional requirements to be president was to be a “natural born citizen”. At my school we were taught that a “natural born citizen” was a person born in the United States with two parents who were citizens of the United States. We were taught that this was to prevent a person with divided loyalties from becoming president.

It seems that at some point after I went to school this part of the curriculum ceased to be taught. We now have persons who were taught that Bill Clinton had a legitimate argument when he argued about the meaning of the word “is” after getting caught lying about the nature of his relationship with Ms. Lewinski. For approximately 200 years people were taught what the meaning of “Natural Born Citizen” meant when referring to the presidential eligibility requirement. It seems for that for the past 30 or so years this definition has been omitted from the curriculum so that for younger people “Natural Born Citizen” can now mean what ever they want it to mean.

I am not sure how you counter the arguments coming from people who repeatedly insist that “native born” means the same thing as “natural born” despite ample evidence that the framers had a specific meaning in mind. Can one really believe that the framers of the constitution would have allowed King George's son to serve as president if he had impregnated an underage girl who had a baby on US soil. It is ridiculous... yet that is the argument that these people must make if they actually believe what they are saying.

"Obama supporters have sought to use Chester Arthur as precedent for justifying Obama's eligibility," said attorney Leo Donofrio, author of the Natural Born Citizen blog. "Such reliance is unfounded because it wasn't known at the time Chester Arthur held office that he was born with dual nationality."

Of course, you most assuredly cannot make that statement about Zero.

Chief Justice John Roberts performs a do-over
just to make sure that very precedent is set.
