Cain stumbles on right of return?
The Right Perspective ^

US presidential candidate Herman Cain is trying to recover from an embarassing stumble over the question of the Palestinian Right of Return on Sunday.

“Right of Return?,” Cain blankly asked twice in response to being questioned about his position on the vital issue on FOX News Sunday. The second or two of deafening silence that lasted before host Chris Wallace repeated “The Palestinian Right of Return” to the Republican hopeful seemed to last forever.

Perhaps this is the take-away point of Cain’s appearance. He didn’t think highly enough of the moment to get suitably up to speed on THAT DAY’S big story.

He clearly did not know what was meant by “right of return”—he didn’t know the phrase...at a time when this issue was in the forefront.

Yet, despite hundreds of gaffe’s by Palin, they won’t call her toast.

Palin is FAR more popular among men than women. So, yes.

I suppose “right of return” is a moot point when you state the position of giving the Palis “nothing” in concessions.

So who then?

The only one whose name is floated that really knows foreign policy is Bolton.

A good VP for a guy like Cain.

Dubya didn’t have much foreign policy knowledge either - remember how he flubbed about the new leader of Pakistan?

Does every candidate need to be totally up to speed on every demand by every radical group in the world?

“Yet, despite hundreds of gaffe’s by Palin, they won’t call her toast.”

Great insight. Palin has never been attacked nor demeaned.

Do try to keep up.

The question was the electability of a woman, not Palin per se.

They are not “gotcha” questions they are “bully bits”. The media plays the bully in the tv playground.

Nonsense. Most voters have little or no idea what that term means, nor care should they know or take a few minutes to look it up. It is an absurdity, a non-starter, favored by those who are looking to derail the real issues of achieving lasting peace. The term may be known, but only because it has been tossed around enough by those talking heads who are either ignorant or malicious of its meaning - and obviously the one who brought it up in this case did so with malice.

“You say toh-mah-toh, I say toh-may-toh!”

Toast, like beauty, is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

That said, even a broken toaster gets it right sometimes. It’s just a matter of timing.

“My mother, a conservative, christian, former-marine was saying yesterday how she’d be concerned about a woman president during war-time.”

Two words: Golda Meir
Two more words: Margaret Thatcher

Sigh. This “presidential material” argument just really starts to wear thin.

I want a president with character, who loves this country, and who doesn’t hate me for being white and working hard. That’s it. I really don’t care for a legal genius or a pointy-headed foreign policy WONK — I want someone with a HEART. I want someone who puts Americans FIRST, with true leadership ability.

Is that really so hard? Our presidents are surrounded by the policy wonks ...what they need is a heart and good executive decision making ability ....and that STEMS from the heart.

We haven’t had anyone w/ a HEART since Reagan. It’s really time we brought it back.

It’s the LIBS who care about all the pointy-headed details ...because THEY use that stuff to make it look like they’re smarter than everyone else ...when they’re not. THEY lack heart ...so they don’t value it.

Don’t play their game!!!

If a tool like Gore can go on to run for president after not recognizing a bust Jefferson AT MONTICELLO, any prattle of “gaffes” is nothing but an acknowledgement my candidate is dangerous to your candidate.

...And “dozens” isn’t any more credible than “hundreds.”
