Dan Rather Warns Chris Matthews: Bachmann Is For Real

Chris Matthews assembled a panel including Dan Rather and Rachel Maddow to discuss whether Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann should enter the presidential race to scoop up Mike Huckabee’s voters in Iowa. Surprisingly, Rather spoke very highly of Bachmann and called her “very articulate” and someone who could be “dynamite” in the race.

Rather also told Matthews that Bachmann has real “break-away potential” and could potentially go all the way:

If that is true, their plan is to get her elected in the primary, than trash in in the general.

That's the plan against EVERY Republican from RINO to neocon to paleocon to libertarian conservative.

If there's dirt, one person should know about it: Bachmann. It wasn't by accident that W hired private investigators to look into him before running.

And that’s when she can’t be a paid Fox News contributor, when she announces.

There’s nothing in US election law that says she has to not have been a paid TV position prior to announcing.

Such a proposition is patently ridiculous and I was addressing my post to the patently ridiculous poster who was implying that since Sarah has not yet quit Fox News she is now locked out from running for President in the 2012 election.
