Chris Matthews assembled a panel including Dan Rather and Rachel Maddow to discuss whether Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann should enter the presidential race to scoop up Mike Huckabee’s voters in Iowa. Surprisingly, Rather spoke very highly of Bachmann and called her “very articulate” and someone who could be “dynamite” in the race.
Rather also told Matthews that Bachmann has real “break-away potential” and could potentially go all the way:

I think Dan is calling out Bachman because:
1. She has been the voice for the Tea Party
2. He hopes she can drive a wedge between the
old GOPer’s (good old boys) and the conservatives.
3. OR- he may think he could be the kiss of death
if he heaps any praise on a candidate-
remember... dan,his daughter, and the rest of his family
all contribute,and get paid by the Demon party- he sometimes goes off script- but his main talking points are written by the party of evil.

I'm surprised you didn't try the Daniels assassination tactic: Rather said something good about Bachmann which must mean Bachmann is a tainted RINO.
