NASHVILLE, Tenn. (KTLA) -- Tennesee's Senate has passed a bill Friday that would forbid public school teachers from discussing homosexuality in schools.
The bill was approved by 5 votes to 4 and would allow for legislators to introduce a ban on letting teachers make homosexuality part of a prepared lesson plan in K-through-8 schools.
It must now pass through the state House, which plans on taking it up next year.
The bill's longtime sponsor, State Sen. Stacey Campfield told CNN his bill is "neutral" and that discussions on sexuality should decided by families, not school.
Passage would make Tennessee the first state to enact such legislation.
The bill, dubbed by opponents as the "don't say gay bill," mirrors a similar law that was repealed in the UK in 2003.
A Louisiana law forbids homosexual imagery in sex education classes.

This is a good start
FABulous start!
Kudos to TN for not allowing these degenerates from infecting their schools with this sick lifestyle. We’re screwed here in mexifornia and other states should decide on their own.
Don’t say gay; there’s nothing “gay” about it!
Schools that do insist on homosexual harrassment of kids should be forced to discuss the 90% of male homosexuals who also commit the rape of boys. Kids should also be informed that only male homosexuals have an international organization dedicated to the molestation/rape of young boys—I bet NAMBLA is never mentioned.
Long overdue- Time for the backlash to begin with a rippling effect all across the nation. God Bless America!
Not to mention ‘safe schools czar’ Kevin Jennings’ GLSEN.
I hope more states follow suit.
Jennings is as sick as they get. Sex education has now become a form of sexual harrassment and child abuse for kids as young as 7 years old. These perverts promoting this deserve 20 years in the pen with the rest of the child molestors.

Next year????
What the heck is wrong with THIS year??
totally agree. Schools have no business introducing sex activism into schools. Children that have confusion with their sexual identity should talk to a counselor in private and the counselor should talk to their parents.
This should be especially true with regards to the early years of elementary school. I mean, of all the big things I would ever say, as well as others, “Let kids be kids”. I personally wouldn’t want to discuss and dump tons of information on my own kids about the subject, whenever I get around to finally becoming a father, between K and 5.
Also, I don’t think you need a full class on this matter. I had experiences of being taught a little about kids that were young and diabetic and also an epileptic, but this didn’t take a full class in elementary school, it only took about, say, a small block of time through the day to explain information about the possibility of a kid having a seizure, or eating abnormally compared to the rest of our lunch times to keep blood sugar levels at the proper condition.

Excellent!!!! May many more states follow suit.
Thanks for the ping lj.
Why are they waiting until next year?? The good people of TN should get the 4 names that voted against this and replace their tails at the next opportunity. Absolutely outrageous to present this deviancy to our children.
Disgusting
I agree - why wait???
Oh no. Put them in with the general population. They'll last as long as Jeff Daumer... maybe.
Jeff Dahmer, that icon of the gay community, apparently carried few supporters in the prison population.
Who would want to share a cell with someone with his sexual proclivities and dining habits? Iirc, he didn’t last a year. Even pimps, axe murderers, and bank robbers have standards.
agreed
