Obama double downs at AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee)
The Washington Post's Right Turn ^ | May 22, 2011 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 05/22/2011 10:27:34 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The president just finished speaking to a packed convention room at the AIPAC policy conference. He was not booed when he entered; most stood and offered brief applause. Still, the crowd during the speech had long periods of stony silence, and audible boos were heard when he brought up his plan to base an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal on the 1967 border lines. President Obama took nothing back from his foreign policy speech on Thursday and blamed the press for any controversy. He doubled down, making this upcoming presidential election a time for choosing for friends of Israel.

Here is what he had to say about Iran:

You also see our commitment to our shared security in our determination to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. . . . Its illicit nuclear program is just one challenge that Iran poses. As I said on Thursday, the Iranian government has shown its hypocrisy by claiming to support the rights of protesters while treating its own people with brutality. Moreover, Iran continues to support terrorism across the region, including providing weapons and funds to terrorist organizations. So we will continue to work to prevent these actions, and will stand up to groups like Hezbollah who exercise political assassination, and seek to impose their will through rockets and car bombs.

No mention of all options being on the table. The threat of military action is now clearly not credible.

--snip--

But the lowlight was his reiteration of his Thursday remarks on the 1967 lines. Oh, yes, he did. But mixed in were blame-the-media and woe-is-me sentiments that were shameful displays by a U.S. president:(continued)

I am convinced we'd have been better off having a lottery pick our president in 2008.

What???

I watched that stupid speech. Those idiots applauded virtually every sentence he spoke. They even applauded when he belched.

Maxine Waters would have made a better POTUS just by being her stupid self.

"... most stood and offered brief applause ..."

That is not true it was long and sustained and he had to ask them to take their seats. I heard no Booos at any time.

That was not what I heard when I watched it live on FOX. There was loud cheering and applause, I couldn't believe it. There was silence when he was talking about the pre-1967 borders - but there was lots of enthusiastic applause throughout the speech.

"...our determination to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons..."

What the H is he talking about, and why do these stooges not boo him out of the room? .

The problem was that we picked an evil sentient being, that would make things worse.... much worse. Would have been better off going non-sentient: Door-knob president, watermelon seed president, or just a small piece of quartz would have worked just fine.

They’re hoping the moslem crocodile will eat them last.

But they’re not dessert, the Jews are his appetizer.

I watched part of it on YouTube. Copious applause while he outlined his plans for the destruction of their homeland. Stunning.

That's the way I heard it.

They applauded him so much he barely had time to finish his waffle.

It is my understanding from folks who were not given tickets, that the chicago group was very large. Just guessing, was probably them who clapped and drowned out any other, which would be the purpose of them being there in large numbers. And we know from other events, the front rows are always reserved for strongest support. NOTHING coming out of chicago is good.

He must think he no longer needs the Jewish votes or money, or else he’s arrogant enough to think they’ll love him even as he prepares the cattle cars and gas ovens—no doubt a later step in his plan.

I did not watch the whole speech but did see how the crowd cheered the Communist..I tuned in three times and each one was a really great round of applause..So let me see the Jews in NYC could care less for their brothers and sister in Israel..they will care when the moron and chief throws them to the dogs..

.
But it probably is not their homeland!

Jerusalem in the Lord’s holy hill, but it is not the rightful possession of “those that claim that they are Jews but are of the Synogogue of Satan.”

It is the home of the Lord’s remnant of Israel.

The O brought his own contingency of sycophants. The microphones were strategically placed so it’s not clear exactly what the response was.

It seem to me the biggest applause line was for Steny Hoyer when he stated the 67 borders were indefensible.
