ADL’s Abraham Foxman: Obama didn’t throw Israel under the bus

I just got off the phone with Abraham Foxman, the Holocaust survivor who heads the Anti-Defamation League. He does not agree with the claim by some Republican 2012 presidential candidates and conservative commentators that Obama threw Israel under the bus in his Arab Spring speech yesterday.

...“I don’t see this as the president throwing Israel under the bus,” he told me. “He’s saying with `swaps.’ It’s not 1967 borders in the abstract. It’s not an edict. It’s a recommendation of a structure for negotiations.”

My take: Abraham Foxman says, "Obama's excrement doesn't stink."

Foxman's past history:

(1) Used ADL's nominally Jewish identity to whitewash MoveOn.org's promotion of anti-Semitic and other hate speech, thus underscoring Foxman's priorities: left wing of the Democratic Party FIRST, with opposition to hate speech and hate organizations a distant second.

(2) Legitimized the vicious racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton by issuing a joint statement with him on some issue or other.

(3) Came one step short of Holocaust denial by encouraging Congress to reject a resolution to recognize the genocide of Armenians during the First World War. I say "one step short" because he did not actually deny that Armenians were murdered. He fired an ADL director (Tarsy) for daring to contravene him on this, which prompted two other directors to resign in disgust.

"Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" Foxman certainly did his best to prove Hitler right.
