The PS3 works fine for Netflix and is a good game console as well. My only complaint is that the operating system software for online PS3 seems to update about once a week.
Have Sony unit that I got at Costco. Sony always makes great products.
I bought a cheap Samsung refurb and found it better than the new one I bought. The thing is, it had someone else’s email address on it that couldn’t be simply deleted - I had to call up Pandora to do that.
I love Samsung. They make a good product.

I have this one. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDP-S570-Blu-ray-Disc-Player/dp/B0036WS4D4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305987497&sr=8-1 It has worked well. But I rarely watch blu-ray. With most blu-ray you cannot stop the movie and then continue at the same point, but must start from the very beginning of the disk. This is most annoying. For that reason, I use DVDs (which my player upscales to 1080p).
Forget Blu Ray.....get a Roku XDS. I love mine.

I have a LG, not WiFi, and it handles BlueRay and NetFlex just fine.
I have XBOX 360 with netflix, My kids and wife love it.
Well I can’t give an opinion on what console.
Because when the ‘stars’ came out against our country, our troops, and then, President, I stopped watching movies, supporting the ‘stars’ and making them rich/er....
Coincidentally, it was just as the ‘age of Obama’ started.
I bit the bullet and bought a computer for both of our TV’s. Costs more but more functionality.
I bought the BestBuy brand Insignia on sale for about $100...it was already set up to run on the internet, took only a few minutes. We have Netflix, youTube....all the extras. I love it. Well worth it. The Blu-Ray works very nice in combination with my HDTV. It’s like you are really there. And I bought the cheapest one.
I second the PS3.
Head to CNet, that’s where I do all my electronics research. I decided on a Samsung BD-C6500 recently by going through their stuff, the funny part is I did the research the hard way (just started with their lists) then when I went back I found the “front door” to their Blu-Ray recommendations and that was the one they recommended highest for the level I was looking for.
And, of course, the most important part is never, ever, under any circumstances, should you consider, for even a moment, buying cables from Best Buy, or Monster cables from anybody not Best Buy. I got the HDMI cables I needed from my local computer place, bought 3 (I needed to add a hub for my setup) there for less than 1 costs at Best Buy. I pointed that out to the clerk and the next day their lightup sign was advertising their cables, that made me happy.
Pick up a $50 used computer on craigslist and use that. VGA output is fine because streaming videos are not high definition. If you use a computer you can also find lots of free movies and tv online. Freepmail me if you want some links.
Don't get hung up over the fact that these are gaming systems. I own two of them and I don't play games on them at all. They're just outstanding media systems all around. Easy to hook up, use and update. The hard drives are an added bonus.
