Meet the Press" host David Gregory said Friday there are "prominent views within Israel" that support President Obama's controversial Mideast peace ideas expressed the day before.
When asked by MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, "What major Israeli public figures have come out supporting the President's speech," Gregory couldn't name one (video follows with transcript and commentary):
...
Unfortunately for the "Meet the Press" host, Scarborough exposed the charade with a simple question.
Readers are reminded that Gregory has been celebrated by his comrades in the media all week for his gotcha interview with Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich last Sunday.
Unlike those clips, it's a metaphysical certitude the Obama-loving press aren't going to be replaying this exchange with Scarborough non-stop for the next 72 hours.
"Journalism" today is about exposing the misstatements and misdeeds of Republicans not those of folks on the left and the shills that support them.

This little toad Gregory is to Hussein as Monica was to Bill.
Of course he voted for Obama as often as possible.
And his wife, Beth Wilkinson, is the former General Counsel of, um, FANNIE MAE.
So ole David is living off her millions in taxpayer rip-offs to boot.
Doesn’t this remind you of that Nic Robertson (?) clip Rush is always playing, where that journalist keeps asking Egyptians how much they love Obama.
They each say they don’t love Obama.
When the journalist wraps it up, he says something like “So, as you can see, most Egyptians love Obama.”
And who cares even if there are some people within Israel who support a return to 1967 borders? The question is what is right, for Israel, for the U.S., for the rest of the world.
Ohhh, some “prominent views” [sic] in the U.S. support MARXISM. So what? They must be defeated.
Actually, we experience much the same thing here, don’t we? And I don’t mean just among American jews.
There are people who simply refuse to believe the writing on the wall.
No matter how many times Liberal policies fail, they cannot be dissuaded from doubling down on them again and again.
Yes, Jews have a special history which, one would think, would cause them to be especially mindful of policies that support survival and those that don’t. But the Conservative v. Liberal worldview is what it is.
Unfortunately.
Good point.
Straw Mans. Let me show you them.
You have an interesting perspective. I would say the “reputation” (perhaps for lack of a better word) of the Israeli zeitgeist is that they would ruthlessly defend their country’s existence, including whatever borders they felt necessary, if they felt they could “get away” with it in the eyes of the world that -— contrast again with your perspective — that is apolgetic and appeasing to the Arab world.
I often think of a video clip I saw of an incident at one of the Tea Party rallies during Tea Party summer. Two people were shouting at each other. Talking about supporting Obama, one said something like, “You’re a Jew! Don’t you care about Israel?” The woman replied, “Yes, I care about Israel, but only when they’re not acting like a*holes!”
Like, what?
That makes me vomit.
The Neturei Karta sect are Orthodox Jews that do not believe in the Zionist state and don’t believe the Jews will have a state until the Jewish Messiah comes. They are the ones used by the leftist media every time they need to point to an example of Jews that are reasonable about the Muslim positions. The leftist also drag out the Hanafi Muslims when they want to show how peace loving all real Muslims are and both groups together don’t have more than 15,000 members world wide.
There are more than just one Orthodox sect that does not support the State of Israel. I know of 5 or 6 sects like that and yes, they are all very small in number. But that is not what I am talking about.
I was talking about secular Leftist Israelis. They are not religious at all.
They resort to flat-out lies to protect the champion they backed. All Israel realizes what would happen if they agreed to abandon their citizens living in the West Bank and Golan Heights. Obama is trying for political gain by plying the media with what he knows the left wants to hear. The majority of the American people stand with our friend Israel. What he gains with the left (which he already has) he just lost with the middle. It’s things like this that will slam the Democratic party next November. From the reaction of the Democratic party to this stupid statement, you can tell they do not yet know how bad it will hurt them. They learned nothing from the 2010 trouncing they suffered. Let’s hope they don’t wake up in time for 2012. If they don’t, the Republicans will have it all.

Obama is trying to undermine the Netanyahu government because he is in sympathy with his opposition. Thus he thinks of Bibi pretty much as he does Scott Walker —a political enemy.
"Mother Jones' Kevin Drum on Obama:"...the reason I voted for Obama in 2008 is because I trust his judgment. And not in any merely abstract way, either: I mean that if he and I were in a room and disagreed about some issue on which I had any doubt at all, I'd literally trust his judgment over my own. I think he's smarter than me, better informed, better able to understand the consequences of his actions, and more farsighted. I voted for him because I trust his judgment, and I still do."
What part of that isn't true? Kevin Drum is the drumbest of the drumb at MJ.
Or maybe the upper east side.
Somebody summarized Drum’s view as Obama is by definition smarter than anybody stupid enough to vote for him.
Did Gregory come up with that on his own or was he just repeating the talking points?
“This little toad Gregory is to Hussein as Monica was to Bill.”
Most likely literally so.
David Gregory lives in the parallel universe of his own making! What a loon...fawning over goons!
