In truth, the ideas and images in mens minds are the invisible powers that constantly govern them. - John Locke, English philosopher, physician
The American evangelicals whose frenzied scriptural arithmetic points to the Second Coming of Christ 2,000 years after his birth are engaged in an activity which has been threatening the stability of the Christian Church since the second century; they are trying to align Gods calendar with mans. - Damian Thompson, author, The End of Time

MIDDLE EAST, INDIA, May 19, 2011 I bumped into Harold Camping when I came across his book 1994?
Since he put a question mark at the end of the title I didnt write him off completely because much of what he talks and writes about is certainly found in the Bible.
SNIP SNIP
In fact 1 Thess 5: 2 says, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
But Camping figures its okay to work out the year and the month and in fact goes on and tells us both a month, a day and an hour - he says Jesus' return will probably happen with a massive earthquake around 6pm on May 21, 2011 in which ever part of the world you are!
America is full of 'experts' in every field you can think of and at the age of 89, Camping cannot be denied his expertise in the Bible, which he claims he has researched for most of his life.
He is basically telling people they cannot take the plain meaning of what is said in the Bible to understand the scriptures, but with his God given key he can, while everyone else has misinterpreted when the end times will happen.

Don't know but I suggest you invest in XEROX.
Well, I think Camping says the rapture is coming on May 21st and will be kicked off by earthquakes. I don't think the world is supposed to end till October. So, assuming you've missed the boat and aren't zipped off to heaven on Saturday, you'll probably still have to attend to your yard till the whole words implodes sometime in Oct. Now this assumes the earthquakes didn't destroy your lawn or lawn care equipment. Even at that though, if you've been skipped over on rapture day and now realize the world will end in a few months, are you really going to feel motivated to mow the grass?
I’m not mowing my lawn until Sunday.
Apparently he's sold 200 contracts to the followers.
RE: Cant wait to hear Campings excuses on May 22nd for why the rapture didnt happen.

Harold Camping wrote a farewell letter to his staff and followers. You can read it here:

I guess they'll be able to wave at the elect as they fly by.
I was thinking of a Packard dealership. I figure, second time’s a charm.
How true
I heard on the radio this morning that, although everyone of Camping’s flock have divested themselves of their money and posessions, Camping himself has yet to do so.
Hope the pilot's an atheist.
Attention seeking fools like this are what is driving the Secular World away from the church.
Well, yeah, you’ll haveta live thru WWII, Korea and Vietnam all over again............but the Beatles will be cool..............
Well we certainly don’t have to worry about losing any politicians to the rapture.
The earthquake poses a dilemma.
Should we be huddled under a sturdy table at 5:58 to protect us from the earthquake? But if we’re raptured, won’t we bump our head if we’re under the table?
Who knew it would be this confusing!
I'm not so sure we are seeing an increase in false prophets. Charlatans like Camping have been predicting the end of the world forever. Camping himself predicted the same thing back in 1994. Look up date setters and you'll see a long and rich history of these types of con men.
Yes, one day we will have an increase in false prophets, but I don't think that time is now. Camping is just a run of the mill lying hack, and his followers are gullible fools who are so desperate to believe the end is near that they will trust almost anything he says. Human nature is what it is, and this type of thing has been the norm throughout human history.
Decisions, decisions!
“Cant wait to hear Campings excuses on May 22nd for why the rapture didnt happen.”
Well, he came to it via the Bible and some math.
I think he forgot to carry the 1.
And Barbara Stanwyck will be young and hot!
I know, it is amazing, isn’t it? Because we then will hear over and over “Where is the promise of His coming?”
And with Obama throwing Israel under the bus, it is all lining up just as He said it would!
Maranatha!
Everyone will be the perfect representation of our internal blueprint, no flaws or errors.
