Herman Cain and Michele Bachman appear to be the big winners following the decisions by Mike Huckabee and Donald Trump to not enter the presidential race, according to a new poll of Iowa conservatives. Meanwhile, last weeks presidential announcements by Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich did not resonate with Iowa conservatives.
“Cain received a 6% bump from last weeks poll with 29.8% of Iowa conservatives giving the former Godfathers Pizza executive their support. Meanwhile, Bachmann received a 7% boost to claim second place at 14.2%.”
AWESOME FOR BOTH!
The more conservatives in the race, the better.
“Among likely caucus goers, Cains support among Iowa conservatives expands to 34.1%”
This is some really great news. I look forward to Saturdays’ announcement.
Not at all; we need ONE conservative; more than one splits the base and will nominate Mittens.
I like Cain and Bachmann, but please, this is an internet poll, and we should use caution in not reading too much into it.
You are correct.
There are far more scenarios in which Romney walks off with the nomination than scenarios favoring any other candidate.
Shhh...they’re on a roll.
Is this a “real” poll? As opposed to an online poll...
If so this is BIG news and shows Cain having a shot in Iowa.
Looks better than the 0.5% he got on the Gallup poll the other day.
Internet poll... Add some special sauce.
Yes...I figured out the other day though that if Cain is in as the only conservative (it would probably work for Bachmann too, Palin might have more trouble but could do it), he could win if someone splits off enough establishment votes from Romney, such as Pawlenty, Newt, or Daniels.
Fox is telling us Romney is the leader. Who to believe? /sarcasm
Are you so sure about that? From the story:
“Among likely caucus goers, Cains support among Iowa conservatives expands to 34.1%, nearly tripling Bachmanns 12.9% support. Still, Iowa conservatives remain uncertain about the G.O.P. race with nearly one-third saying they are not sure who will ultimately win.
The 2012 Iowa Report Poll, a project of Grassfire Nation, is a special survey of Iowa conservatives conducted weekly to help measure where Iowa conservatives stand on the 2012 Republican presidential field.”
Sounds like however they take the poll, they track it week to week and they have their sample down to relevant folks.
But, but, but we’re all RINO’s here in Iowa!
I think I would buy a Cain-West, a Cain-Palin, and certainly a Cain-Bachmann ticket. There is much to Cain’s background that needs exposure, e.g. Navy service, math and computer degrees and big corporate experience that is far above Obama’s comprehension level even if you throw in two years of POTUSA or should it be said two years of selling out the USA which any two-bit comunity organizer could do for international enablers. I’m bothered that Cain doesn’t get put into the mix by the media including Fox. This reminds me of how McCain came up through the pile by media push. Different story with Cain but same playbook.
Sounds like a great ticket to me.
I love it . . . and wait till the real racists raise their ugly KKK heads! The hypocrisy will be enormous . . .
If he wins the Iowa straw poll, and he appears to be in good position to do that, then the MSM will not be able to continue ignoring him. At that point he becomes a threat to their boy, Romney. They will target Cain with everything they have.
the pundits said that rombot and puslenty would inherit the huck’s votes.
