They were in a hotel with people passing by the room constantly, if it's anything like the many hotels I am in. How did he intimidate her in that situation? And if he was so intimidating, why did she immediately feel un-intimidated enough to alert the authorities as to her story?
6.) People accuse other people of crimes all of the time. What do we know about the complainant besides that she is a hotel maid? I love and admire hotel maids....I am sure she is a fine woman. On the other hand, I have had hotel maids that were complete lunatics, stealing airline tickets from me, stealing money from me, throwing away important papers, stealing medications from me. How do we know that this woman's word was good enough to put Mr. Strauss-Kahn straight into a horrific jail? Putting a man in Riker's is serious business. Maybe more than a few minutes of investigation is merited before it's done.
7.) In this country, we have the presumption of innocence for the accused. Yet there's my old pal from the Ron Ziegler/ Richard Nixon days, Diane Sawyer, anchor of the ABC Nightly News, assuming that Mr. Strauss-Kahn is guilty. Right off the bat she leads the Monday news by saying that Mr. Strauss-Kahn is in Riker's... "because one woman stood her ground..." That assumes she's telling the truth and he's guilty. No such thing has been proved and it's unfortunate for ABC to simply assume that an accusation is the same as a conviction. .."

I have no idea what she did or didn’t say. You were saying that a fat old man would need a physical weapon, and I was refuting it - no, he wouldn’t need a physical weapon.
I have no idea whether or not that’s what happened, but it’s still more than possible, so don’t discount point #3.
If you couple today’s journalism with human nature, we probably have no idea where the truth resides.
A short fat man of any age is still a lot bigger and stronger than the widowed woman suffering from aides in question. And as an African Muslim she would be conditioned culturally to fear men.

The jails are packed with thugs & assorted criminals who have done exactly that - and you should know that as well!
There has been a string of complaints from women before this one so there is plenty of reason to credit this woman’s story. And Rikers is where they put felons who have been denied bail because they are flight risks - which he most certainly is since France refused to extradite Roman Polansky.
Innocent until proven guilty, but...
why did he change his story from I was having lunch with my daughter to consensual sex.
I can see what she has to gain, but why change to story?
No. It doesn't work that way. Not ever. Guys who are rich and powerful don't need to do that. (even if they're very ugly)
Ben Stein went off the tracks years ago.
The fact that he would jump into this ugly scene before we even know any facts is more evidence of that, why did he feel the compulsion to jump on this woman so early?
My impulse at this moment is sure not to take this creeps side.

Actually the woman didn’t know who he was - according to what the police have said.
I still think he probably did exactly what he was accused of, however.

Not in Africa - which is where she is from. Most women there have gotten it from their cheating infected husbands and tainted needles used in immunizations.

Rapists have said otherwise. I also know a number of women who have said otherwise. Slap a woman, beat a woman, and scare the living daylights out of her and she will probably do exactly what you want. According to men who were raped by other men that is also the outcome in their cases as well.
