1. Most users don't know the difference between a true "virus" and any other malware. Nor do they care.

It's all "viruses" to them. They are in the vast majority. We, who know the difference, and care, may as well be whispering in a windstorm.

2. Most users are sheep, and believe whatever pops up on their screen. They do what it tells them to do.

Pop-Up:"You are located in $ISP_GEO_LOCATION$ and your computer has IP address $IP_ADDRESS$. You have a virus on your system. Please download and install the following software to correct this problem..."
User:"Uh-oh, okay..."
Operating System: "You need to enter an administrator password to install this software."
User:"D-uh, okay..."
Malware: "Please enter this command: cd / ; rm -rf *"
User:"D-uh, okay..."

3. The malware writers know they can't breach OS-X easily, but that most users are sheep.

So,... there's another piece of social-engineering Trojan malware for OS-X. This is news?

News will be when there's a true OS-X virus, replicating in the wild, doing real damage without the user's permission. (...sound of windstorm...)
