No anonymity in France for Strauss-Kahn's accuser
Name of NYC hotel maid who says IMF chief attacked her is published in Paris
msnbc.com staff and news service reports
updated 5/17/2011 9:06:18 PM ET

The hotel maid who accuses International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of trying to rape her is a 32-year-old immigrant from Guinea who told her brother, "somebody has done something really bad to me," according to media reports.

Her identity has been withheld in U.S. media publications, in accordance with standard journalistic practice. But media outlets in France, where Strauss-Kahn is from, began reporting her name Tuesday.

Among the outlets to identify the woman by name are Paris Match, radio station RMC, Swiss newspaper Tribune de Genève and Slate.fr, according to Slate.com. (Slate.fr is a French website that is editorially independent from Slate, although Slate does own 15 percent of it.)

Slate.fr, citing relatives of the accuser, reports that the woman is a legal immigrant from the west African nation of Guinea and is of the Fulani ethnic group. She is a Muslim who has been living in the U.S. since 1998, when she followed her then-husband to the United States. The pair later divorced, according to the report, and the woman is now a single parent of a 15-year-old daughter.

"She is a good Muslim. She is really pretty, like many Fulani women, but in our culture, we do not accept this type of aggression," a cousin of the woman told slate.fr.

The article says she is a legal immigrant, but then a relative says “She has no right to vote in the US”. So, is she legal or illegal.

Only citizens have the right to vote. You can be living here legally and still not be a citizen.

She’s a Muslim? So, when is she going to be stoned to death for adultery?

“I just don’t see it. Someone lunging at a maid after she walked in”

The maid was told the room was empty, was told to clean the room and she went in.

Not a slam against maids, but a lot of them aren't the sharpest people, especially when from a third-world country.

Consider:

Reports are he chased her and finally trapped her in a hallway. Seems we had a president that chased an unwilling female once and propositioned her (Paula Jones). . . and it is alleged he did commit a rape (Broderick).

How hard is it to believe that a self-centered french socialist with arrogance, a history of relentless womanizing and “power” would naturally force himself upon an illiterate third-world peon? After all, we had a president do basically the same thing (except the woman was a “friend”).

The question is, do you believe some third-world illiterate maid is quick enough to allege rape, to batter and bloody herself on the spur of the moment, immediately concoct a story that the hotel and police would find so believable they would pursue one of the world's most powerful man to a departing jet and arrest him? To me, that is highly unlikely.

Moreover, how likely is it the police at the scene conspired with the maid to put together a frame-up in moments (ala OJ Simpson). Hardly believable, after all, why would they. They probably had no idea who the guy was and didn't care, either.

Given the above context, and that the story from the guy (didn't happen, well, it did happen) changes, and applying the Bill Clinton standard of behavior (I can do anything against the less powerful because I can, after all, “who’s going to believe you anyway” defense).

I go with the guy raped her.

Maybe THAT’s why he reportedly wants to kill himself...rather than out of any sense of guilt.

She has been in this country for 12 years. Next, no one ever said she was illiterate. Clinton at least knew Paula Jones before he did that. Africa is known for AIDS, so DSK wasn’t the sharpest tool for choosing an African woman to do this to. Next, just because someone is from Africa, doesn’t mean they don’t have intelligence. In terms of scamming, look at the huge scamming networks in Nigeria.

Strauss-Kahn, a Socialist, first became an activist member of the Union of Communist Students, before joining in the 1970s the Centre d'études, de recherches et d'éducation socialiste (Center on Socialist Education Studies and Research, CERES). In 1998 he became one of the leaders of the Socialist Party for the regional elections in the Ile-de-France region (Paris and suburbs).

In 1999, Strauss-Kahn was accused of corruption in two financial scandals related to Elf Aquitaine (French oil company) and the MNEF, a student mutual health insurance, and decided to resign from his ministerial office to fight the charges. An investigation into the Paris-based oil company Elf Aquitaine in 1994 usually hidden from view was a chain of fraud and bribery that touched many of the leading politicians in France.

Elf Aquitaine was a trove of scandal: apartments for the mistresses of powerful men; the "retro-commissions" to French business and political leaders that flowed from many big French business deals abroad; Elf credit cards issued to friends of the company, who bought hundreds of meals in Paris's most lavish restaurants; the names of a loose fraternity of intermediaries who arranged payoffs for Elf and other big companies; and the numbers of secret bank accounts in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and other places where Elf's beneficiaries had hidden their payoffs----networks of hidden power woven through the nation's life.

===============================================

Strauss-Kahn's alleged womanising appears to have been an open secret in French political circles for years. Thierry Saussez, a former adviser to Sarkozy, who took part in the TV show with Banon, said: "All this stupefaction from people is sheer hypocrisy. Everyone in Paris has known for years he had something of a problem. Not many female journalists are prepared to interview him alone these days."

In 2009, the radio satirist Stephane Guillon dedicated his morning comedy slot on France Inter to Strauss-Kahn's "obsession with females". Some commentators suggested his behaviour was a reflection of French culture. In 2000 French writers Vincent Giret and Véronique Le Billon wrote almost presciently in their biography of him: "There is only one thing this famous man has avoided … a fall from grace."

======================================

SOCIALISM AND SEX CRAZED STRAUSS-KAHN Strauss-Kahn was expected to step down as head of the International Monetary Fund and announce his run for president and was expected to easily beat out Socialist contenders for the nom: Francois Hollande, Martine Aubry and Segolene Royal.

If Strauss Kahn does not run, incumbent Sarkozy would likely beat French Socialists candidates who are furiously squabbling among themselves.

France’s hardcore left is not happy with Strauss-Kahn (known to all as DSK). DSK is a millionaire who lives in a €4mn Paris penthouse with a €140,000 Porsche parked outside. He is known for wearing suits costing £22,000 (which he denies).

Strauss-Kahn is lambasted by leftists as a champagne Socialist and establishment fat cat.

France’s sullen anti-business, anti-globalisation left must decide whether it wants ideological purity or a candidate who can beat Sarkozy – who, of course is praying every night that DSK won’t run.

NOTE Dominique Strauss-Kahn was born on 25 April 1949 in the wealthy Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine. He is the son of Gilbert Strauss-Kahn, a legal and tax advisor and member of the Grand Orient de France, and Russian/Tunisian journalist Jacqueline Fellus. His family is of mixed Sephardic and Ashkenazic Jewish origin.

IMHO, the EU is hanging on by a thread. Border patrols will be instituted soon.

Both the governments and the people realize at this point that they have run out of other peoples money. The Welfare States are broke. The immigrants from the Third World are not producing enough taxes to compensate for the social services they consume.

The only way to defer the collapse of the various Welfare States at this point would be the wholesale expulsion of all unskilled immigrants (legal and illegal) from Europe. The Greeks have already started targeting them in riots. Expect bloodshed sometime in the next 12 months.

Okay. Maybe not, but based upon staying at a lot of hotels around the states, my experience indicates otherwise. The argument stands that is is hardly likely she invented something out of hand and the police acted like they did based on the word of a maid. Hard to say that, but the police probably have a higher standard of proof when it comes to maids especially when she is making a very serious accusation against the head of the IMF.

Knowing someone beforehand is irrelevant to Clinton, as he picked then out from a crowd and sent his troopers after them.

You are 100% correct that DSK wasn't sharp, as he raped a maid when he could have paid for some high-class (or low class) type of hooker. But then again, why Clinton and this guy engage in serial behavior of this nature is beyond my understanding. . .other than it is a power thing more than a sex thing.

The guy looks more guilty each day.

There are some inconsistencies in the reporting:

The article says she is a legal immigrant, but then a relative says “She has no right to vote in the US”. So, is she legal or illegal.

No inconsistency at all. A legal resident alien, with a green card, is just that, a legal resident of the US, but unqualified to vote in US elections, as is any other non US citizen...

The REAL Name of Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s Rape Accuser is Nafissatou Diallo

Nafissatou Diallo was a Sengalese writer who died in 1982

He's been a bad boy for a long time.

From what we now know, it looks like HE set her up for rape.

Heard on overnight radio - investigators have removed a huge section of carpet AND an entire sink. My guess - this rapist is toast. (Yet to account for - when he scored his 'quick exit' airplane ticket.)

Didn't need a ticket. He has a deal with Air France to board any flight, anytime.
