This tends to suppot her credibiilty. If she wasn’t attacked as alleged, it’s hard to see why she’d want to file charges that could get her killed. Even the chance of a big payoff might not be enough, since she couldn’t take the money with her after an honor killing.

actually, legal permanent residents cannot vote. Only once you become a us citizen do you get that right. So you are wrong, it is perfectly possible she is a permanent resident, with all her papers in order, and cannot vote.

Unless she has been westernized enough and does not practice. She isn’t from the middle east. Unfortunately, rape in many African countries has become out of control (such as the Congo). Perhaps her family back at home sympathize with her due to the attacks many have dealt with there. Hard to say. Just because he said she is a good Muslim, it may have been his way of saying she is a good person. Who knows.
Also, I read that the maid was told that a man had left the room and his room was empty. So, why was she told the room was empty without first looking at the manifest?
Probably auto check-out. Often people check-out on their TV but don’t leave right away. To housekeeping, the unit is a check-out. Often, top suites have a priority to be cleaned quickly to accomodate incoming VIP guests.

There IS physical evidence---DNA under her fingernails when she scratched him, blood on the bed, a paper trail indicating he had flim-flammed the hotel into thinking he had left.
Luxe hotels handle $3000 a night guests with kid gloves. There's a protocol----the help does not freely enter rooms at will. Apparently maids are not allowed to enter rooms until they are specifically told the guest has departed.
The hotel first sends in a bellman to cart off dishes, empty bottles, and the like BEFORE the maids go in to clean.
The victim had been told by the bellman that the guest had left....and got the OK to enter the room. But when she walked in, DSK was apparently hiding in the bathroom and ran out to attack her when he heard her come in.
From what we now know, it looks like HE set her up for rape.
They hustled him off to Rikers despite a high paid lawyer's plea........probably b/c he's done this before and had been warned.

Hotels that cater to United Nations and international VIPs surely have more than one person on the staff with foreign loyalties. They probably have many of them. The real story may never come out.
