No anonymity in France for Strauss-Kahn's accuser ("She is a good Muslim. She is really pretty")

No anonymity in France for Strauss-Kahn's accuser
Name of NYC hotel maid who says IMF chief attacked her is published in Paris
msnbc.com staff and news service reports
updated 5/17/2011 9:06:18 PM ET

The hotel maid who accuses International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of trying to rape her is a 32-year-old immigrant from Guinea who told her brother, "somebody has done something really bad to me," according to media reports.

Her identity has been withheld in U.S. media publications, in accordance with standard journalistic practice. But media outlets in France, where Strauss-Kahn is from, began reporting her name Tuesday.

Among the outlets to identify the woman by name are Paris Match, radio station RMC, Swiss newspaper Tribune de Genève and Slate.fr, according to Slate.com. (Slate.fr is a French website that is editorially independent from Slate, although Slate does own 15 percent of it.)

Slate.fr, citing relatives of the accuser, reports that the woman is a legal immigrant from the west African nation of Guinea and is of the Fulani ethnic group. She is a Muslim who has been living in the U.S. since 1998, when she followed her then-husband to the United States. The pair later divorced, according to the report, and the woman is now a single parent of a 15-year-old daughter.

"She is a good Muslim. She is really pretty, like many Fulani women, but in our culture, we do not accept this type of aggression," a cousin of the woman told slate.fr.

The article says she is a legal immigrant, but then a relative says “She has no right to vote in the US”. So, is she legal or illegal.

A legal immigrant does not necessarily have the right to vote. A "green card" holder is legal but is not a citizen. Ergo, no right to vote but a legal immigrant.

Only citizens can vote. LEGAL means having a greencard or a permanent residence.

“Only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections. Registering to vote or voting in a federal election is a crime if you are not a U.S. citizen. Non-U.S. citizens, including permanent residents (green card holders), who vote, or register to vote, in a federal election also can be denied naturalization and/or removed (deported) from the United States. “

There are different schools of thought regarding inditification of rape accusers.

Here’s what Alan Dershowitz once said:

“People who have gone to the police and publicly invoked the criminal process and accused somebody of a serious crime such as rape must be identified. In this country there is no such thing and should not be such a thing as anonymous accusation. If your name is in court it is a logical extension that it should be printed in the media. How can you publish the name of the presumptively innocent accused but not the name of the accuser?”

Her brother said she wears a head scarf, I don’t see it.

Like I said, don't take the photos to the bank yet. I picked these up from French websites. So who knows?

Four male witnesses or it never happened...

But if the others joined... Oh, never mind.

Dunno... maybe it’s just me but there is something totally WEIRD about this whole story. Something isn’t quite right.

In reference to my earlier post about ‘being told the room was empty’ - I wasn’t blaming the woman. But, rather the hotel worker who sent her to a room that was occupied without being sure.

If a male hotel employee had walked into a hotel room occupied solely by a naked Hillary Clinton the media would be blaring the fact that this employee had likely not followed correct procedures.

I just meant that the brother may remember her wearing a scarf in Africa, but doesn't here. Also, I read in another article that she was living in apt for people with HIV/AIDS.

If she does indeed have HIV and DSK committed this crime (or even consensually), he may have a sentence worse than time in jail. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/imf_accuser_in_apt_for_hiv_vics_oZmUkbtouJ14RHw1434HvJ/0

Why do we allow all these wacko Muslims to move here? We can’t get along without them? A super liberal one-worlder type Jewish guy gets done in by a Muslim he manhandled and did stuff too. Dominique Kahn is on drugs or medications of sometime that allow his to keep up his jet set lifestyle (my theory)

“Doesn’t her brother have to kill her now, for the “honor” of the family?”

Sez her own lawyer: “She can’t go home.”

OTH, if brother kills her after the lawsuit and jugement, then the family can keep the money and still butcher the victim as ManMo commanded.

I don’t believe it either. The story just doesn’t scan from the beginning. A low-level employee just strides in on a naked guest in a $3K/night luxury hotel suite? That sounds like a firing offense right there.

This immigrant came to America with HIV? Has an apartment in NY City through a Harlem group assisting with such things. Could this Frenchman have been set up? Indeed he could have been and he was a such and easy target. We may never find out thr truth in that NY City cesspool

Same here, I just don’t see it. Someone lunging at a maid after she walked in... unless he was expecting an ‘escort’ dressed like a maid. /s

I seem to remember that a black African guy who was sodomized w/a night stick by an NYPD officer some years ago was named Diallo or something close to that. It was a real big case back then.
