I saw a commercial for this last night.

More "shared sacrifice" silliness.

Good idea. I hear the Mississippi is running dry.

If a guy wants to grow a beard then good for him. However, no one should feel like they are killing the planet by not shaving. This is beyond stupid. What’s next? Save water by not bathing, brushing your teeth? Ick.

ahead of World Environment Day on June 5.

Woo-Hoo, I'll mark it on my calendar, and then water my lawn, and flowers, and take a longer shower, and double-flush my toilet....

Guess it is okay to use electricity then. I have a beard and I still shave/trim it.

This is silly. First of all, water is a renewable resource. Secondly, as a percentage of total water usage in this country, the amount that’s used for shaving is insignificant.

“Grow One. Save a Million” campaign to promote water conservation ahead of World Environment Day on June 5.

Any day set aside with the word 'World' in it makes me gag. For the obvious reason.

Guys, put down the razor for as long as you like, a few days or a few weeks and save on average five gallons of water for each skipped shave.

Five gallons for a shave? If you belong to ZZ Top, then maybe.

The proletariat must rise up and sacrifice themselves for the revolution. Sorry, I don’t know where that came from. I guess I’ve lived in green Oregon for too long.

I’ll start off by not purchasing any of their p***-water beer... oh, wait, I don’t drink it anyhow. I like REAL beer.

I challenge all my fellow male FReepers to join me in fighting this “green” silliness. Starting today, and for the next week, I’ll be shaving twice a day and will leave the water running continuously throughout the entire shave.

Five gallons? I doubt I use one gallon for a shave. I don’t keep the water running. I fill up a cup and swoosh my razor around in it. Easy to rinse it out that way. Hell, I might use a quart.

I use an electric razor. Growing a beard won't save a drop of water. It will save me about 3 minutes each morning, but that will be balanced by having to keep all the wild hairs under control later. I had a full beard from 1980 to 1997. I can just imagine the gray hair where I once had a mix of reds and browns.

The people who make Queer Beer want more beards in the world.

Strange.

Budweiser, A-B’s flagship beer and one of its best-selling brands, recently announced its “Grow One. Save a Million” campaign to promote water conservation ahead of World Environment Day on June 5.

Give me a break...don't we ALREADY have 'Earth Day'? ...and just what does Anheuser-Busch have to do with beer?

42,000 gallons of water saved? Does that mean if it was used it would be gone forever?

If you want to grow a beard, grow one. But the Earth will not be saved as a result.

But beer is a diuretic, half a case a day would more than make up for the shaving water.

I've had a beard for over a third of a century (my wife has never seen me without it). And I still shave, to keep it trim.
