LAGUNA HILLS A man who deputies were attempting to evict from his town home last week shot at officers with a BB gun, striking one in the hand.
((snip))
Rose was found in the living room pointing a black BB gun at deputies, according to the release, which they believed was a firearm. Deputies told Rose to drop the weapon, and when he failed to do so, a deputy shot Rose with an electronic stun gun. Police previously had said Rose was found in a bedroom.
While the stun gun was being used, Rose fired a BB gun and hit one the deputies in the hand. Another deputy then fired two shots at Rose, but did not hit him.
A third deputy used an electronic stun gun a second time to subdue Rose and he was taken into custody, according to the release.

If convicted he faces up to three years in state prison.
So with one little BB gun he managed to change an eviction into a change-of-address.
What a maroon.

In most states this guys actions would get him dead.
He should by a lotto ticket and send the proceeds to that department.
They obviously need the money for more officer range time.

Cops are notoriously bad shots.
May have been aiming for a family pet that may have still been breathing.

Deputies told Rose to drop the weapon, and when he failed to do so, a deputy shot Rose with an electronic stun gun. If they believed it to be a firearm why were they tazing him? Obviously that was a bad decision. If the guy had a firearm both officers would be dead now. Besides, a BB gun or a pellet rifle are absolutely not toys; a pellet in the eye will go all the way through the brain, a couple of times. Those officers made a big mistake, IMO, assuming that an eviction is a walk in a park before they even made contact.

Oooh, an assault BB gun! hahahaha! I'm waiting for the 10-bb capacity limit bill to hit the floor. Well, along with mandatory registration of course.

Cops are notoriously bad shots. That seems to be the case.
May have been aiming for a family pet that may have still been breathing.
The police showed remarkable restraint in this particular case.

I guess he was planning his relocation - wishing to move into a jail cell as quickly as possible.

Maybe the cops are lying. Seems to be a lot of discrepancies in the report. Confusion about which room of the house the man was in, how a cop could have fire twice and missed at close range, why they tazed him if they believed he had a firearm. A lot of things don't add up.

He missed because the suspect was flopping around doing the big chicken after first being hit by the stun gun.
