"Here's my theory," said Cain, leaning forward in his chair. "Let's talk about the current field of Republican candidates. They can't go after Obama as hard as I can because they're not black. I think that, either subconsciously or deliberately, they are being coached to not say it a certain way, that you're going to be labeled a racist and the liberal media is going to try to bring you down, because they still want to protect their precious Obama."
Cain believes his audiences are a different story. "The voters, they hear my message first, not 'He could take it to Obama,' because they are more concerned about stopping Obama than taking it to Obama," he explained. "This is what I'm hearing and this is what I'm feeling. And the race card is going to be short-lived if Herman Cain gets the nomination."
But wouldn't liberals and Democrats still find a racially-based way to attack Cain? They certainly found a way to attack Clarence Thomas, the black, conservative Supreme Court justice.

Just like they did Palin for being a woman.
just use the obama’s defence. Its because I’m black right? You’re racist thats why you disagree with me
Prolly right
I like the fact that he’s not going to be a pushover.
The liberal and RINO establishment will attempt to destroy Cain. He threatens the idea that white people hate blacks and the Republicrat Party needs the black/white thing to keep us from noticing that they’ve sold us out. Put Bachmann on the ticket and they’ll go insane trying to convince us that we’re “supposed to hate blacks and women, dammit!! Now...start hatin.”.
Well, true. Look how they reacted to Clarence Thomas.
But Cain still isn’t presidential material, I don’t think. Zero experience as a politician. Zero record. We know what he says he will do, but we don’t know what he would actually do.
There’s nothing the Left hates more than members of it’s captive voting blocs - blacks, Hispanics, gays, etc. - going off the reservation and thinking for themselves. Cain is going to be subjected to an enormous amount of bile.
With Cain, we can shove that Race Card up their A55e5 so far that it’ll pop out their left eyeball.
Does not and never has worked for conservatives. Ask Justice Thomas.
Herman’s sole electoral experience was in 2004, when he got routed in a Senate primary by a 2-to-1 margin by a battle-scarred warhorse who himself had lost three previous elections.
And now, he plays the race card. But the truth is, Herman, if you were white, nobody would take you seriously.
This is another indication thaf if Cain gets the nomination, it will be all about race for another four years.
In other words you want a professional politician...a Washington insider like the ones we’ve been electing and taken us where we are? Cain has a very successful record as a business man> I think we need drastic change otherwise we’ll continue to go downhill. I’m willing to take a chance with Cain.
Sounds like the perfect President to me.
Right now he is my top candidate to vote for in the primaries.
Stick a fork in Cain and serve him up next to Newt.
>We know what he says he will do, but we dont know what he would actually do.<
Make pizzas.
Cain’s saying the right things, and making smart arguments. That’s all that matters at this point... lord knows every other potential candidate has gone soft and backtracked.
As far as race goes, Cain is up for something different altogether - he’s not mixed, light skinned, posing as an identity politics activist, or Shirley Chilsom. He’s going to experience “liberal” racism the likes we have never seen before. I think he can take it, but I hope he’s scandal free.
