GUN OWNERS YOU HAVE TO READ THIS-BIG BROTHER IS AT THE VA HOSPITALS..PASS THIS ALONG AT ONCE

Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners -- Thanks From a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions : 1 . Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone? The nurse then informed me, that if I had answered yes to any of the questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.

Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people, like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner veteran or not, you've been warned.. If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them.

Be Very cautious about what you say and to whom.

Ours was sneaky, it asked if anyone in the home was a hunter. Son was smart enough to ask what that had to do with his asthma. Subject was dropped when dad walked in the room.

These questions and “ Do you have firearms in your house?” have been on our clinics update forms for two years now. I just write across them NOYB.

A few months ago I was buying a pistol. I was looking at the questions, again, on the form and some of them were just nuts.

I asked the gun store owner (why are they all so damned serious) if anyone every answered YES to any of these questions? It was the first times in years going to this place that I saw him laugh out loud. He told me if someone was stupid enough to answer YES to any of those questions he would kick them out of the store and call the cops.

I guess there are just some stupid people out there.

Appy, methinks thou doth protest too much. I do not have a dog in this fight because I am nowhere near retired and have never served in the military. I posted it because I found it interesting.

Theoretically, it is supposed to be used as an opportunity to talk about gun safety.

Our pediatrician did not ask about guns but spent time talking about safety such as covering electrical sockets, choking hazards, keeping boiling pots at the back of the stove and the handle turned away.

The last few years, the questionaire I filled out before my annual physical asked if there were any guns in the house. My doctor is not a leftie, so I assume that some doctor’s association recommended it.

This year, that question had been removed. Instead, it asked if we had any throw rugs in the house. Or loose bannisters.

I guess they feel obliged to come up with something.

Which has nothing to do with the scare-mongering urban legend in question.

Think about it. The VA is going to grab the CCW of everyone who says they are stressed? Really? You honestly thought that was true? And the CCW holders are going to keep silent about it (this thing is over a year old)?

I'm not military or LEO and it wasn't in a VA emergency room, but about a year ago, I pulled something off an overhead shelf and caught it with my face.

The ER person taking notes started asking me all those questions while I bled on his desk. I think the sight of blood coming out of my face while he asked stupid questions cut the interrogation short.

The fact that his questions started to make my face even redder from anger might have made it bleed more.

You are spreading absurd lies that make 2nd Amendment supporters look like gullible nut bags who will believe anything that makes them look like a victim. What happens if a veteran avoids the VA system because he believes this stuff?

Verify then post. Google squashed it in the first page.

Well, No.1 (Stress) is a part of life. Just because I feel stressed doen't mean I am going to shoot anyone. I like to think I spent a lot of years learning successfully how to handle stress,

As for No. 2 (Fear), I think that is part of the reason many of us own guns and/or get CCW permits. There are lots of bad people out there. Fear of bad people who want to hurt you is about as rational a reaction as there can be.

How does the VA justify this?

I’ve been going to a VA hospital at least twice a year for the last 17 years. When I show up for my appointments they always ask the same question. “Are you in any pain?” They’ve never, not even once asked me if I feel like hurting someone, or myself. And I’m pretty sure they don’t know whether or not I even have a CCP. Sounds a little on the suspicious side to me.

This is standard at most doctor visits anymore. Don’t agree with it, but if they’re all asking it, who else do you go to?

They are part of the government. They don't feel compelled to justify anything to us peons.

I had heard that if you were ever treated for PTSD your name ended up in the national police data base and you would not be able to buy a gun. So this is really believable to me.
