Newt was once a champion of conservatism. It’s kind of a shame.

Newt has always been and always will be a RINO !!

No more RINOS!

If the GOP nominates a RINO stay home as I will!

Rather the evil you know than a Rino implementing the progressive sociomarxist agenda anyways!

" ... that he continues to advocate for a plan he first called for in the early 1990s as a Congressman,..."

No, Newt was a champion of conservatism in most things, but never an across the board champion of conservatism. Newt is reasonable when he's dealing with keeping the government from expanding into something new, but he was always more inclined to try and make existing programs more efficient or a less intrusive solution than getting rid of them. Years ago he was talking about everyone having to buy insurance and what sort of subsidies some would need to do so as well as how tax cuts would free up personal money to make it less of a burden.

I always wondered if that was a ploy to get independents to vote for conservatives. Unless he makes a huge deal out of denying he's for Obamacare and spells out a really new approach to everyone being insured, I guess we'll finally know it wasn't a campaign ploy or technique.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he strongly supports a federal mandate requiring citizens to buy health insurance....

Then I will never Vote for Him.

Newt was once a champion of conservatism.

It was a sham since it didn't last long. He's just another con man. Remember he (Mitt and Jeb) said 'The Reagan Era is Over'. If he runs on the GOP ticket, he's our enemy w/a mask on w/his global warming and socialist agenda.

I think he’s a champion of his own career and little else. Beware those sorts of “conservatives”. There have been an endless supply of them.
