Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he strongly supports a federal mandate requiring citizens to buy health insurance a position that has been rejected by many Republicans, including several who likely will be running against him for the Republican presidential nomination.
Appearing on NBCs Meet the Press, Gingrich told host David Gregory that he continues to advocate for a plan he first called for in the early 1990s as a Congressman, which requires every uninsured citizen to purchase or acquire health insurance.

Thanks xzins...his PAC is like a lot of them, depending on the big donors...I’ll be curious to see when his SEC reports come out if the same names appear...

I think Gingrich is secretly working for Ron Paul.

Newt was once a champion of conservatism.
It was a sham since it didn't last long. He's just another con man. Remember he (Mitt and Jeb) said 'The Reagan Era is Over'. If he runs on the GOP ticket, he's our enemy w/a mask on w/his global warming and socialist agenda.

Your list has a glaring omission...
You mention Christie and Huntsman, but where's Bachmann? (Hiding with Waldo?)

I thought Newtie would at least get through the First round of Jeopardy before pouring gasoline on himself and lighting a bonfire.

He is a very smart man, and I want to see the debates. Dont let everything here detract you.
I guess you think he's smart because he has been able to deceive you but he hasn't deceived many. Have you been asleep or are you a troll?

Gingrich has long felt that each individual should be responsible for paying for their own healthcare. Great idea. People certainly should be responsible for their own healthcare.
But, if the solution is for the government to mandate that everybody must buy health insurance, not so great.
Instead, why don't we make it possible for everybody to afford health insurance...and let it go at that?

Newt is delusional to think he has ANY chance. Maybe he knows that and is bitter enough to act as a spoiler.

Bush sucked at debating. And Clinton debated at sucking: "It depends what the meaning of the word 'is' is."
People don't vote for successful debaters.
Especially not MASTER debators.
Cheers!

I am not overlooking Cain. I personally like him very much. I just don’t think he could beat obama at this point. But who knows? A year and a half is along time and I am willing to listen and learn.

PS, a Palin/Cain ticket wouldn’t be too shabby either. But Palin/West....unbeatable. Period.

Exactly! And the ‘rats are using his pride because they have alot on him. He wants to play ball so bad, he’ll sell the country to do it. Newt is our enemy - no one can be mistaken about this. NY23 was just another example.
To: C. Edmund Wright
...NY 23 and Newt... Thanks for reminding me about that highly embarrassing episode. I'd almost forgotten it.
Since he left office, I've never considered Newt much more than an establishment Republican insider. In the last couple of years, I've demoted him from even that low station.
While I admire and respect his long-ago accomplishments, he's frankly lost his way, and is in no way fit to be our president.
