Two days after U.S. Navy Seals Team 6 made headlines around the world for the dramatic raid that killed terror mastermind Osama Bin Laden, the Walt Disney Company trademarked their name, reports FishbowlNY.

This doesn't effect how the Navy uses the moniker for military purposes, but it does mean we may soon be seeing 'Seal Team 6' branded products and entertainment.

According to records viewable online with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Disney filed the Trademark paperwork on May 3, 2011 for 'Seal Team 6'.

“Just defending Mr Disney’s rep, that’s all.”

Well, before we elevate him to sainthood, do you want to discuss his (Disney corp)hiring and employment practices?

Don’t overstate it. I explicitly defended aspects of Mr Disney’s record, not the record of the current incarnation of the business he founded.

If his personal hiring habits are ornery, please share them. I’d like to hear it.

It's been in the news plenty over, say the past few years. Let's put it this way; Disney has been criticized for not being “family friendly” on certain holidays. Families have shown up expecting to have a nice day and the kiddies would ask mom and dad,”why are those two guys doing that”. Starting to get the picture?

I don’t know how I could be more clear, but I’ll try again.

My defense was of Mr Walt Disney, not the current antics of the corporation that bears his name.

Walt Disney passed away in 1966.

“Walt Disney passed away in 1966.”

Ok. I am well aware of when he passed. We had one of the first color tv’s in our community and would have our neighbors over to watch the disney color specials. In fact, grew up on Disney. So, do you think he’s turning over in his grave concerning the path his namesake company has chosen concerning alternate life style policy?

Yes, absolutely. But that is peripheral to what I was saying.

I was explaining to you that your characterization of Walt Disney was wrong and unfair. Then you cited a current example of what the Disney corporation does as acts that you found particularly ornery.

I didn’t disagree, but just said that the acts of the current Disney organization offer no insight into the politics and character of Mr Walt Disney.

Hmm, found this on wikipedia. Now, I realize that wikiedia is not always the most accurate source for information. But, it’s there.....

“Disney was an ardent socialist and a supporter of Eugene Debs”

Eugene Victor Debs (November 5, 1855 – October 20, 1926) was an American union leader, one of the founding members of the International Labor Union and the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), and several times the candidate of the Socialist Party of America for President of the United States.[2] Through his presidential candidacies, as well as his work with labor movements, Debs eventually became one of the best-known socialists living in the United States.

I don't have a link but I think this is pure crap. It goes against everything I've ever heard about Walt Disney, and I grew up in southern california.

Look, both of you guys are fakers. I was a United States Air Force SEAL Submariner, in the Tanker division of the 101st Airborn NORAD detachment for the Marines, and we participated in the Helicopter Invasion of Canada in the War of 1812 with Teddy Roosevelt on D-Day.

Actually, there’s more information supporting that Disney was not a communist than he was one. Out of curosity, I just read his testamoney before the McCarthy hearings. And, by all appearances he was indeed a staunch anti-communist. He however, did have some serious problems with communists within his company and spent a lot of time and energy resisting their attempts to unionize his workforce. It doesn’t seem that he was completely sucessful though as the communist movement was pretty active in Hollywood at that time.

Can YOU say you flew a submarine over Quebec as a Marine Air Force SEAL NORAD OPSEC DEF? No? THEN YOU ARE NOTHING.

“Corp comes with an “s’ as in Corps”

But the S is not pronounced, the word is not corpse as in dead body ie, the POTUS.

How do you like the new ballistic stealth submarine helicoptors they are fielding?

They fire jets out of their ballast tubes! Here's a video! I helped design them!
