One thing is clear about twitter; it is not a useful conduit to express highly sensitive opinions about controversial social, political or racial debates. Period.

Keep the 140 characters to describe things like what you ate for breakfast. Otherwise, you’ll end up like Damian Goddard.

Damian Goddard, a freelance contractor hockey host, was fired from Sportsnet after sending an anti-gay marriage tweet. His tweet was in response to another tweet from sports agent Todd Reynolds, who represents Mike Fisher, the husband of country music star Carrie Underwood. Reynolds’ tweet was in response to Sean Avery’s pro gay marriage stance in a Human Rights Campaign video.

(How’s that for a social media’s version of the telephone game?)

Sean Avery is one of the first professional athletes to use his public platform to advocate gay marriage.

To be honest, I’m surprised to hear Sean Avery advocating any form of marriage after publicly calling his ex-girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert sloppy seconds. He was subsequently suspended and eventually traded from the Dallas Stars to the New York Rangers as a result of his words.

When we say “tolerance”, we don’t mean for people who disagree.

Now pay your taxes, your government is broke.

I don’t watch much professional sports. Reason”
50 years ago pro hockey aid no way to televised hockey games. Their mantra was you had to go to the game if you want to enjoy hockey. I couldn’t because I didn’t have the money. Today they are all for the big TV revenue, however I don’t understand the game and all the little nuances of the game. So my response is go pound sand.

As for the other pro sports, I gave up on them when the multi-millionaire players went on strike for this benefit or that.

I’m perfectly happy with most college and high school sports.

That’s Canada for you.

Rapidly secularist and leftist, especially in Toronto. Free speech for you, but only if your speech agrees with the CBC and other elites.
