Donald Trump was just on CNBC responding to allegations over his property dealings made by the New York Times. He blasted the paper for its report, and its reporter for refusing to appear on TV to defend his claims.
The article reports that more than 300 people are suing Trump after he removed his name from properties they purchased. Those involved in the lawsuit allege there was no disclaimer that Trump was not the developer of the properties, but rather just "rented his name" to the actual developers.
Trump ended up going on a multi-minute rant in which he insulted CNBC anchor Simon Hobbs and slammed the New York Times.
Watch the video here. It may be remembered as Trump's "Dean Scream," the on-air event that ended Howard Dean's presidential campaign in 2004.
0:10 Trump says Mr. Barber (the New York Times reporter) "didn't have the guts to go on" CNBC.
0:55 Mark Haines, CNBC, points out where the article says "my latest development" is mentioned in promotional materials. Trump rebuffs, saying the document people signed points out that he licensed his name, not that he developed the properties.
3:10 Trump says, "Hello Simon, whoever you are Simon. Simon, the market collapsed, you may not have heard about that. So thousands of buildings all over the United States had difficulties, so you probably heard about that somewhere along the line. That's what happened Simon."
4:30 Trump says he did investors "a favor."

And - as far as I know - Reagan did smoke - and thought Chesterfields a fine cigarette.
Trump was NOT involved with the investment he rented out his name to - it was not a case of “Trump endorses this” more of “Buy this from Trump (but Trump is not actually involved other than in cashing our check allowing us to temporarily use his name).
When they bought it under the Trump name - they no doubt assumed its resale value would also reflect the “value” of the Trump name - only to have that ‘asset’ removed once their money was secure and Trump cashed his check.
When someone bought Chesterfield cig’s - there was no loss of value associated with Reagan pulling a “psych - I don't really smoke them - they are a lousy cigarette - they only used my name temporarily for a fee”.
Nope - as far as I know - Reagan STILL (posthumously) endorses smoking Chesterfields!
Trump understands that the best defense is an offense>>>>>>>>
I never thought about The Donald that way but your are exactly right! He was just as feisty in this business interview as he has been on the stump. Prior to Obama whipping out his (alleged) long form birth certificate and the raid on Osama
Trump is always on offense.
I hope he runs, and I hope his campaigning will encourage other Republicans to switch to offense too.
I’m tired of the constant defensive postions by Republicans.
Who is the a-hole who wrote this, apparently a guy who doesn’t understand business. Trump came out of this showing he can hold his own tremendously and is one he!! of a smart guy. Trump is back and I’m lovin it. And any comparison to Dean is just moronic. Trump is defending his name and did so respectfully. Dean just start randomly calling out states during a speech, like a screaming drunk on a corner. If the author of the article thinks there is any comparison I am beginning to see how Obama got into Office, plain stupidity.
They can try but he fights like a lion.....buzzards require that the lion is dead first... lest they be devoured themselves.
I wonder if he is still (posthumorously) sending all of those cartons of cigarettes to his friends for Christmas, like is claimed in the ad.? ; )
TRUMP ROCKS and I’m afraid he will not run leaving us deprived of any more up the middle rhetoric against Obama and getting our candidates off their training wheels. TRUMP is the only man with the gravitas to make stick what he says against the regime. We need him in the race for that reason alone whether he is a good fit or not because he would shove, not press, the other wannabees to the right on policy.
This was no “DEAN SCREAM” moment, but a grand distortion of fact.
I think most of his friends are dead also. ;)
Every house needs a lighting pole. Sure, Trump is looking foolish but he sucks up the criticism from the MSM while dishing it back to the MSM and zero. Meanwhile, the rest of the Republicans can defer their media rectal exam.
I heard it.
Typical CNBC left wing hacks gladly and willingly carrying the Slimes poorly written yellow journalism attack. Trump put the lightweights in their place.
Correct!! The so called press are basically Obama volunteers. This was proven clearly in the last election campaign. Trump is showing that they must be attacked exactly the same as if they were members of the Obama administration.
Kudos to Trump for this... I thought he did well calling out these filthy people.
I appreciate your compliment, stating that I can write a “classic,” even if you don’t agree. You’re buying what he’s selling, and he’s got plenty for you to buy. Do you honestly believe he’ll run?
Yes, based on all the things he’s saying, I think he’ll run, and we’ll know know this month yet.
One interesting thing, he’s just chomping at the bit to reveal his financials.
