Members of Navy SEAL team 6, the Special Operations unit responsible for killing Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden in Pakistan last Sunday, have expressed concerns about their safety and the safety of their families now that details of the mission have been made public.
Speaking to Marines at Camp Lejeune Thursday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the concerns were expressed to him directly a week ago when he met with members of the unit to congratulate them on their mission. Gates said the SEALs were mainly focused on their families and worried they could be subject to retaliatory attacks.

What seals? I thought Obama did the hit himself!
Terrorists can go there and look for Iconic stickers in car windows...tee shirts etc.
You would be able to find a family member of the team.
It shows disgusting disregard for these fine patriots to even have identified any unit associated with this operation.
Now, Team Six will have to change homeport, brief all family member on not displaying ANYTHING associated with UDT...even in their own homes.
Essentially, they all have to go underground and live on base at all times.
How do you think that's going to affect morale? There will be dropouts or divorces by the dozens in all SpecOps units.

I was on another site where a person posted that a family member was a SEAL, not T6. Immediately after the announcement, it was ordered to remove ALL bumper stickers and to not wear any clothes or display any paraphernalia that would signify SEALs. Sounds legit to me.

But the loser doesn’t care. He wants to be the hero. Obama should have never involved the press about even his visiting with them. This administration and Obama are such freaking losers with no respect for our military. Have you all seen the Obama the Navy Seal Action Figure? It’s all such cr@p.
I served with several Muslim sailors, and while it always made me wonder...there's no doubt they served honorably. No doubt.
That's not to say things haven't changed or that there might now be moles in the Navy...but they'd have to be like James Bond.
When you live and work in the close quarters of a ship, you get to know who's in the next rack.
The POS in Chief flipped on the SEALs immediately!!! As soon as the muslims and international community started using words like “assassination” it went from him ordering the kill to the SEALs made the decision.
The Navy should seriously consider taking this SEAL team, and debriefing them to a writer, who is writing an authorized account of the mission from those who participated in it.
Then, when the SEALs are released from their classification obligation for the mission, the book will be published, for two purposes.
1) As a recruiting advertisement for the Navy.
2) Distributed profits from book sales between the author and the SEAL team members, as a reward for their services.
This might be a strategery to get the fatwa issued against the SEALS and not the murtad fitri in the White House.
If that is so, then they have won.
Fear is not an option, only victory.
I have no doubt the crew of the Vinson was proud to give OBL a proper, ceremonial send-off.

When I first heard this story today, I was wondering if all of the Seals were wearing masks when they met with Bowbama.
So go public with the details, names of people in the room, Who organized the agreement, Why they did feel necessary to agree, just dump it all out there. Right here on this site, It will be seen

It is time that the whole Special Operations community falls in around these brave individuals and their families and makes sure that they are safe. Not just the Navy, but operators of all flavors.
Nothing is more important than taking care of your own.
