Mitt Romney just gave a more articulate defense of Obamacare than President Obama ever has. He continues to believe that the individual mandate is a good idea, despite the fact that the free-rider problem is a myth. His effort to make a distinction between Romneycare and Obamacare was not persuasive: If anything, he convincingly made the opposite case, that Romneycare and Obamacare are based on the same fundamental concept.
In recent months, Romney has claimed that Romneycare was a specific solution for the specific needs of Massachusetts. But in his remarks, he did not name one specific aspect of the Massachusetts health-care environment that is unique to that state. If there are no important differences between the Massachusetts health-care system and that of other states, why shouldnt he believe that Romneycare should be the model for every other state?

Save your money and find another business to run, Mitt. The nation has more than enough flip-flopping politicians in D.C. without you.
there’s gotta be a better way to fight socialism than nominating a socialist.
No, I *WANT* as many RINO’s as possible to tusk it out, leaving a good conservative *cough* (Sarah Palin) *cough* standing. Bob
My feelings exactly. No way, no how.
There is one thing that can be said in defence of Romney’s health care reform in Massachusetts- it’s marginally better than ObamaCare. That’s not exactly something to brag about.
Boston Talk Radio show host (and FReeper) Michael Graham was in the room and said on his Facebook page that it was truly awful.
Someone needs to create one of those morph graphics that shows Mitt morphing into Obama.
So what party do you like? The Fleabitten? The Lovers of Losers? The Never Heard of Me Didja? The 2%er Party?
What an awful selection so far.
You stick with your “winners”. I’ll stick with my consciousness.
Look, there’s no reason to be enemies over this. Romney cut his own throat today. He won’t be the nominee.
Can Romney Win?

Its difficult to imagine a scenario now in which Romney wins the nomination. Or, if he does take the nomination, its tough to envisage a scenario in which a Romney victory wouldnt seriously split the party. A President Romney may not be impossible at this point, but it sure is tough to imagine.
Lets say Romneys candidacy survives for now. The idea that the RomneyCare issue fades away with time seems totally implausible. Every debate from here on out is bound to feature all the candidates taking pot shots at RomneyCare. Far from fading away, RomneyCare is going to become the central issue of the nomination campaignthe surest way to take down a major rival and establish a challengers conservative credentials to boot. How is Romney going to overcome that? And even if he does, how is he going to unite the party?
Maybe if he handles himself well, serving as the butt of every other candidates attack will actually elevate Romney. That might work with an issue on which conservatives are genuinely split. But RomneyCare? As we saw today, a courageous defense of RomneyCare only gives ammunition to Obama and the Democrats. How can Romney survive that? Its tough to see how. Am I missing something?

Oh, I have no doubt that Romney is finished. He had no choice but to double down on his healthcare destruction plan either.
The only candidate I have any real passion for is Sarah and that is mostly because the Left despises her with a hysteria unseen in my fifty years of watching politics. But as I have said I would vote for Satan before this little weasel.
So far, the "B" list is throwing their hat in the ring. I think it's wise for the A list to hold their nomination expectations. Here in Wisconsin, we're pushing for Paul Ryan, he'd wipe Obama's tush if he ran. Can you imagine that debate? I'd pay money for that. I'm not real worried the back benchers are sticking their necks out. 6 months from now, if the same crowd is the contenders, I'll be worried.
Let the freaks duke it out now. Right now, Snoopy has a better chance.
Reagan NEVER had this type attack, but then, the media was somewhat polite. They still tried, but not on the Palin level. And so far, she’s letting it slide off her feathers.
How would they treat Reagan today?
Reagan had decades of experience with the media and it was powerless against him because of that. He also had two terms as governor of our most populous state and honed those skills even finer even union presidencies under his belt.
Same with Nixon deep and long experience. Hence there was some reasonable excuse for the media to hate these men but Sarah has done NOTHING to deserve this treatment having only minimal experience and even less on the national stage.
I think she should adopt the policy of ridiculing the media goading it into even more frenzied outrages, it can’t resist itself. Make it expose its evil nature more and more.
Isn’t that what she does? Bring it on, she’s not afraid. I think she thrives on their attacks. I’d love it if she’d run. Not now, let the freaks duke it out. She should jump in later. I think the A list is waiting, as they should.
Mitt you committed suicide. RIP
So it seems. I am sure her only concern is her family and the attacks it will endure. There is no reason for her to get in this too soon. She is guaranteed to get all the media coverage she wants. It can’t help itself.
The only face saver Milt had was to denounce RomneyCare. He didn’t.
He’s as done as “New Coke” was ~25 years ago. EPIC FAIL!!!
In order to have a chance this jerk needed to repudiate the law. He’s so arrogant he’d rather lose than admit he was wrong!
