The Pima County Regional SWAT team fired 71 shots in seven seconds at a Tucson man they say pointed a gun at officers serving a search warrant at his home. Jose Guerena, 26, a former Marine who served in Iraq twice, was holding an AR-15 rifle when he was killed, but he never fired a shot, the Sheriff's Department said Monday after initially saying he had fired on officers during last week's raid.

If you buy the SWAT guys all those super cool guns, they gotta use them on somebody.

They fired 71 shots and guy was still alive when they were done. A little more target practice and they won't miss the kid next time either.

"What if this guy turns out to be a drug dealer in a drug ring that sells to kids?"

If he wasn't by the time the cover-up is finished he'll be that and worse.

You bust into my house unannounced I don’t give a sh*t who you think you are; I’m lighting you up. We can sort out badges from criminals later.

Why do you boot lickers keep bringing the military into this? This is a case of civilian law enforcement murdering a civilian who was not guilty of any crime.

71 shots in 7 seconds is reckless and a public safety issue. That's not careful, aimed shots to bring down a suspect, that's spray and pray.

Not that you should go around pointing guns at cops, or not drop them when directed. But 71 round to zero? You can get spend less rounds in a short firefight in Afghanistan.

If you bust in unannounced you are a criminal regardless of whether you have a badge.

The only way to stop this is to retaliate against all involved every time it happens.

<><><><><><

comments such as yours really crack me up, appearing as it does on an anonymous internet forum.

So what have you done to retaliate every time it happens? Post something like the above on FreeRepublic?

Well, they found drug paraphenalia at some of the other houses they hit... So this is a "justified shoot" in their eyes.

Who cares if it was a wrong address, a bad address from an informant with a grudge, or just an outright lie by the police in search of a CYA...

This Country is SO screwed.

Biggest question is why they were after a bunch of dopers and they happened to include a working man with a job who did overtime.

Was this an EEO sort of thing?

I agree. Between the WoDdies and the boot lickers, it's no wonder crap like this stuff goes unpunished.

The post office doesn't sell addresses. That's strictly a private sector thing.

I'd guess he knew a couple of these guys ~ hey, I've known Mafia guys ~ doesn't make me a mafioso but I knew them.

BY DEFAULT ALL District Attorney’s in the US are LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS. They are part of the same team same club. BY LAW

So, a guy awakened when the boys crash through the door and seeks to defend his family is the “enemy”? (Your word, not mine).

THE ENEMY???

Give me a frickin’ break.

Let’s assume this guy was a bad guy. You want Barney Fife going up against a bad guy with an AR-15 and Marine training? Nice, Laz. I’ll get my dress uniform out for the cop funerals.

Well, no, that's where you're wrong. He did deserve to be burst upon. The fact that he was shot was his choosing. This is, of course, assuming that this guy is a bad guy, not a good guy.

Do you think OBL should have been captured and tried in a court of law?

Perhaps they can just issue your special get out of jail for free cards. Or are those reserved for the Friends and Family plan.
