The Pima County Regional SWAT team fired 71 shots in seven seconds at a Tucson man they say pointed a gun at officers serving a search warrant at his home. Jose Guerena, 26, a former Marine who served in Iraq twice, was holding an AR-15 rifle when he was killed, but he never fired a shot, the Sheriff's Department said Monday after initially saying he had fired on officers during last week's raid.

The only way to stop this is to retaliate against all involved every time it happens. The law no longer protects us.

Life in prison without Parole for the whole Bunch of them, including ALL Persons responsible for ordering this raid. Welcome to the Police State. Sad thing is, I dont expect this sort of thing here in AZ, when I am in Ca, it is expected but not here.

Hmmm, lots more to this story. If he was involved in dealing then the cops were in the right. If it was the wrong house, yet again, then they have some serious questions to be answered.

As for him not getting medical care, it’s standard proceedure that the site must be cleared out and declared safe before paramedics are allowed inside.

The law no longer protects us.

This is unfortunately the case. With everything that implies.

I AM FURIOUS!!!

this is OUTRAGEOUS.

there would be so many ways to handle this...I wonder if he had been seen at the VA..if so, they may have a lot of questions to answer for also.

I know I am jumping the gun here ( to use a phrase) because I don’t know the circumstances...but it is just tragic.
I hope this highlights that we need WAY MORE RESOURCES to help these vets!

Unless there is more to this story than is being told, I gotta say “If you point an AR-15 at me, I’m taking you down.” We can’t have ROE here like we do with our military. That’s how our guys die in the Middle East.

Lots of questions here.

Sounds like they were looking for some sort of 'ring' whether it be a drug ring or some other type, I'm not sure.

Who signed off on this warrant? What was the evidence?

And let's remember, folks, that there are a lot of bad people in the military. Especially once they get out. There are bad cops, as well, to be sure but they didn't go looking to kill this guy.

This is just plain wrong!

This has ruined my day and this poor widow and childrens lives.

Somebody needs to pay for this awful mistake. The no knock warrants and SWAT teams have got to go. I don't care if they flush the evidence, we have to have our rights back.

America needs to get fed up with militaristic police forces. Our tolerance of tyranny is breathtaking.

What if this guy turns out to be a drug dealer in a drug ring that sells to kids? Don’t be furious until more info comes out.

Any no-knock or dynamic kinetic entry raid must be performed with the judge who signed the warrant as the first guy thru the door and the last guy to leave.

No more problems.

The next time a cop points a gun at someone everyone else should mow the bastard down. It is what cops do.

Wow after reading the article I’d have to agree with you. They called off the rescue folks and let the guy bleed out.

Oh yeah, they served three houses in the area..this guy was working in the mines in the graveyard shift...They couldn’t do a background check?

Even IF he had sold drugs, the raid was stupid with a wife and small child running around there!
