The Pima County Regional SWAT team fired 71 shots in seven seconds at a Tucson man they say pointed a gun at officers serving a search warrant at his home. Jose Guerena, 26, a former Marine who served in Iraq twice, was holding an AR-15 rifle when he was killed, but he never fired a shot, the Sheriff's Department said Monday after initially saying he had fired on officers during last week's raid.

should have read “Brownshirts”!
this is another killing of a proud, valiant veteran that served in combat...
I don’t know how to do it..but if someone could here, post the front page picture of today’s WSJ( wall st journal)of the Marines carrying one of their wounded out of a firefight in Helmund province , Afghanistan.
And THIS IS WHAT THEY COME HOME TO? in their homes with wife and young child?
Who cares? He will never have thw ability to refute those charges now will he? The drug war is a joke and a bs reason to expand the police state in this country. no thanks.
The pofs cops in this country have earned the disrespect shown to them.
Stories like this make me really not give a damn about them anymore.
So called “law enforcement” in this country has long overstepped its bounds.
Screw these bullies with badges. They are 99% scum of the earth, with 1% being the good guys. And yes, I hope some are reading my post and quote me on that.
Unreal.
The apologists for the disgusting law enforcement scum are even worse than the crimials. I am at the point now where I look at the average cop worse than I do the average dope dealer.
Exactly. too many damned cops think they can get away with murder, literally. Until we have these psychos do real time for this nonsense, it will only get far worse.
And this no knock bs is ridiculous. unless its an active hostage situation, there is no justification for this, drugs included.
Sorry, I dont think someone should die ovcer drug usage or possession.
Screw you drug warriors, you are as bad a threat to this nation as obama and the communists.
It's become nothing but another big government racket, while giving government an excuse to ramp up war like tactics, developed a massive government paramilitary machine to be used against civilians, which has resulted in the creation of thousands of violent gangs who also make massive *profits* selling drugs which were made illegal.
The bigger picture?
Meanwhile, as big government winks and nods, big phrama is making astronomical profits and taxes for the government, pushing their drugs, "legally" as they've hooked half the population on *their* drugs and *their* feel good pain medicaitons.
Can you say OXYCODONE?
the pill mills in Florida crank them out..they get sold on the street, everybody is happy, everybody is making big bucks...and you can’t tell me that illegal drugs come into the US without a big political and LEA support system!and who does the money laundering? The banks who have to get bailed out.
Now they want to have a national database for prescription drugs...so they can target people like Rush and any other citizen who gets out of line and may even have a perfectly legal reason for pain meds...The Drug War is in collusion with the government.
Besides, the “minorities’ and young people are kept nicely quiet on the Govt Plantations( the detroit Plantation, the Atlanta Plantation, etc) so they don’t dare fight against massive govt control or vote out corrupt pols!
It's hard to believe this has all occurred in just 35 or so years. It's even harder to believe other Americans can not see what is happening.
Meanwhile, the biggest drug killer of them all, the alcohol producers, sit quietly counting their profits, paying off big government taxes.
If all this were not so damn scary, it would be hilarious.
I used to get flamed when I brought up the idea of even addressing the WOD...called names, etc. and told I must want children to shoot up.
when it comes to drugs, we are sooooo off base.Logic goes out the window, freedom and personal rights go out the window, anti-govt control goes out the window and suddenly we are in alice in wonderland or the 1920’s marijuana scare movies.
We can make drugs restrictive to children, teenagers, and impaired drivers and yet not spend billions on “enforcement” that is prohibition on steroids. The truth is there are too many vested interests, economic and political, that do NOT want to “solve “ the drug problem.
There have been plenty of former DEA agents who have said our approach is futile and counterproductive, rational intelligent, concerned and expereinced people in south America who beg us to call off the WOD...
But really, the mass of citizens just really don’t ‘think”.
The judge said they could execute the warrant, not the Marine.
ARCOM’er no doubt. your Sugarcookie gave it away. LOL.
You might be assuming there is a warrant for the house as it was not released to the public.
We don’t even know if the warrant was for the correct house or subject. Now that is very strange.
The house in question is actually to the right of that Deaf Child Area sign. It is on a street corner with the side of the house on the street in the photo. The fire department/ambulance station is literally within a 90 second run or less. It is 2 blocks though the blocks are not normal sized blocks.
You bet, those in the courts, probation, jails, prisons, prison contractors, judges, cops, DA's, thousands of government lawyers, governments etc, etc, have no desire to see their, "clients" go away.
They'd have to eliminate millions on the government payroll. No way that's going to happen.
So lets just keep this whole WOD business.... business as usual.
Here’s a Google map of the distance from the fire station to the Guerena home. Google maps the distance indirectly as 1,200 feet from the house to the paramedics. If you look at the map, it’s actually closer taking Oakbank. Regardless, we know these paramedics. They’ve served us well. They would not have hesitated helping this Marine unless ordered.
I disagree with this, especially since specific mention is made of searches with warrants, in the Constitution / Bill of Rights.
There was nothing like contemporary police departments extant at the time of the writing of the Constitution.
SWAT behavior like this predates Iraq and Afghanistan. SWAT developed in the 1970s in response to the drug war and gang violence.
They are not used the way they said they were going to be. They are paramilitary and are not concerned with being peace officers. They generally shoot first and ask questions later. Would not be a problem if they were raiding known firtified drug houses and gang headquarters. It is a problem going after small time otherwise on their own persons (or getting the address wrong, etc). They also do not care very much when they do get a wrong address, it takes months and years for people to get restitution from the police for such offenses.
Not sure how you get restitution when they murder someone.
Lawsuits. But I was even talking about getting any kinds of money to reimburse the repair the house, the front door, etc.
How about if we shoot you because you might be a drug dealer in a drug ring that sells to kids?
