Left-wing Columbia Professor Jeffrey Sachs has accused US special operations forces of committing "high-tech murder on a large scale" for their targeted campaign of killing or capturing Al Qaeda Taliban forces in Afghanistan.
Sachs made his contemptible accusation on today's Morning Joe in the course of a discussion of the PBS Frontline documentary "Kill/Capture" on the JSOC operations. Stephen Grey, a producer of the documentary, was a guest.

Did the ROE change while we were all so focused on domestic policy? It seems it may have and the CIC would have to have signed off on it.
And if it has...it is something I tend to support for our troops, rather than the ROE they tried to function under with President Bush.
For all 0bama’s islamic tendencies, he would/should understand how to fight a radical islamic war. Perhaps we’re are only viewing now, some of the strategic changes.

This guy is “SPREAD THE WEALTH” on steroids. He is a leading proponent of us beggaring ourselves to give hundreds of billions of dollars to Africa each year. He thinks Africa could be like India and China, in terms of economic development, if only we give it enough money. Of course, India and China developed their economies without hundreds of billions of dollars of aid from us.

How can this clown be a professor at Columbia and not understand the command structure of the military? It’s not like the special forces picked up a couple of spare helicopters and decided to drop in on Pakistan unannounced on their own whim.
If he wants to call bin Laden’s death “murder”, he’s free to do so (although I doubt he’d find much agreement), but if he wants to pin that so-called “murder” on someone, it’s not the grunts who decided to off bin Laden - that decision was made right at the top. If he doesn’t have the balls to call the president a murderer, he should at least have the courtesy not to pin that label on the guys who actually put their butts on the line to carry out the mission.
Where do you get your info from? Under Obama the TROOPS ROE have been DRASTICALLY changed to include their not being allowed to fire at the enemy unless they are actually fired upon first.
In other words so you will understand this outrage, if an American soldier sees an enemy, armed he can DO NOTHING unless that enemy first fires at him. All actions by our military men and women on the ground MUST be defensive only. It’s no way to win a war.
Also how can you be so blind as to not see the use of drones instead of real boots on the ground is a copycat of the Clinton tactic of never allowing the possibility of American troops getting killed for political reasons only, even though things are done more quickly and effectively with less civilian casualties with boots on the ground.
The ROE hasn’t changed much since Bush. The biggest difference between now and then is that more people are aware of it.
It’s changed enough to put our biys in MORE danger. That’s all need be said.
