Benjamin Haas, communication studies graduate student, will burn an American flag tomorrow at noon on the Parade Ground as part of a peaceful protest, according to Cody Wells, Student Government president.
Wells said Haas is exercising his First Amendment right to burn the flag. The burning comes nearly a week after Isaac Eslava was taken into custody after cutting down and burning the American flag flying over the War Memorial and stealing the University flag.
___ Sadly, a student has filed a peaceful protest with the university to burn an American flag at noon tomorrow. Please join our Student Body Leaders and the LSU Student Body on the parade grounds tomorrow at 1 p.m. to say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem. Thanks guys.

I suggest we all download a copy of the Qur’an, torch it, and roast some pork weenies for lunch tomorrow.
The wind can play real tricks with fire...just sayin’...
“Louisiana State University to Allow American Flag Burning Noon Tomorrow” but burning (or threatening to burn a Koran or creating a cartoon of the guy who made up Islam) is worthy of rioting, threatening to bomb Americans or killing others is totally understandable!
grad student/poet.. do you expect any less?
Are there no patriots on the LSU football team that can show up to, uhh, influence this jackass?
No doubt that’s already happened. This guy is an idiot. He probably ought to call his mom and tell her goodbye, and to take care of his pet rock on his basement table.
Given the legal precedent, I'm sure no one would object if someone stole his flag before he could burn it.
Pin a picture of Nick Sabin on his ass and someone will kick it.
What a slob. He should try being a dipster contrarian in Red China.
I wish I was close enough to attend. I’d throw some Korans and a picture of Mohammed on it to make a bigger fire. I’m sure a lot of other people can think of things they would like to contribute to the blaze.
Freedom for one, Freedom for all.
That is the damn truth there!
Woody Allen? LOL!
There was a Louisiana law passed years ago. Not sure if it’s still on the books.
The law was: Illegal to punch a flag burner BUT the fine is limited to $20.
I so wish some brave soul would meet him with a sealed jar containing a Koran immersed in urine.
Let’s see how serious the anti-American leftists are about defending “free speech” then.
The law was: Illegal to punch a flag burner BUT the fine is limited to $20.
