Congress should be responsible for tackling the nations illegal immigration problem, not the individual states. Yea....that's worked well so far, hasn't it?

During Barry’s economy illegal immigration is down because illegals can’t find jobs, not because more is being done to enforce our laws. We would be better off if Congress were to get rid of Homeland Security, and leave states alone.

illegal immigration is down by 36 percent under ObamaNot completely untrue; lots of illegals are going back home for a siesta because our recession is drying up employment - hardly the type of situation I'd want to proclaim as a success.

Saying the illegal immigration is down by 36 percent under Obama, Napolitano said,
Even if this is correct, it's mainly because of the poor economy.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Saturday that Congress should be responsible for tackling the nations illegal immigration problem, not the individual states. It is the feds' duty to secure the border and they are best equipped to do so, even though they haven't. As to interior enforcement, the states and locals are far better equiped. The feds don't show up at traffic stops, crime scenes, etc. Locals do.

The only problem with Obama’s approach to reducing illegal immigration is that it requires destroying the economy first to reduce their incentive.

Saying the illegal immigration is down by 36 percent under Obama, Napolitano said, "I think these efforts on a state by state level first of all have predicated a falsity...
And I suppose the Great Recession has nothing to do with the illegals returning home when the gravy train stopped...

There are federal laws on the books that the federal government is not enforcing. There are sanctuary cities that have said, in effect, screw the law. If they want to secede from the Union, I’ll let them.
These laws were passed by the people’s representatives in Congress, in accordance with the Constitution.
