Gov. Bobby Jindal arrived in the United States in utero, his mother about three months pregnant. jindal-birth-certificate.jpgView full sizeGov. Bobby Jindal's birth certificate
As he wrote last year in his book, "Leadership and Crisis," his mother had been offered a scholarship in 1970 to complete a graduate degree in nuclear physics at LSU.
When she informed the university that she couldn't accept the scholarship because she was pregnant, "LSU wrote back and promised her a month off for childbirth if she changed her mind. LSU was so accommodating, and the opportunity to come to America so thrilling, that my parents accepted.
"So, my parents stepped out on faith, secured green cards, packed up a few suitcases, said their goodbyes, and took off for this exotic new place called Baton Rouge, Louisiana."

One can find a more productive way to spend one's time and energy.
If you want Obama gone -- as all FReepers do -- then drop this nonsense that is the "natural-born citizen" argument. It's a dead-end; it leads nowhere; it is a distraction that is clouding your judgment; it is going to have absolutely zero impact on whether Obama wins re-election in 2012.
On the other hand, there are many effective arguments against his policies and many worthwhile investigations into his actions that would help get him defeated.
At bottom, the NBC argument is a colossal waste of time.
interesting about Hughes.
Agree. It’s not going to be looked at.
Sorry if I come across as so adamant tonight.
The Judicial Branch cannot take action against the President. Only the U.S. Congress, per the U.S. Constitution, can remove a President.
The U.S. Congress has delegated the authority to try a ‘usurper’ President to the Circuit Court of Washington, D.C. The charge would be Quo warranto. The President charged with Quo warranto is responsible for proving his/her eligibility to be President. Hence the importance of the BC.
BHO did not provide the public with a birth certificate. He presented a pdf, existing in cyber space, minus any legal and official certifying stamp.
Note: he was adopted. The original is sealed. Any changes to an adoption BC would be stamped, “Amended”.
In 2008, a researcher went through the index files at DOH in Hawaii, and there was nothing, no entries at all, for Barak Hussein Obama II.
However, there exists an immigration file for a Barry Soetoro, with Homeland Security.
Pamela Bennett, the attorney for Lt.Col. Terry Lakin, has been trying to get that file for her client’s defense, but Homeland Security has denied her access.
A natural born citizen would never have an immigration file.
I believe that BHO and the Democratic Party have conducted a coup d’etat in an attempt to seize complete control over the Federal Government. The Dems used BHO to get the ‘Black vote’ along with Liberal whites, in an attempt to ram socialism down American’s throats.
As to BHO’s intentions...I’m going to hold off on that for the time being.
Please, no McCain. ;)
Ah,but makes for a fascinating conversation on a Friday night, while the kids are out. Quite stimulating and I’ve learned some. Learning isn’t a waste of time, esp. from Freepers. :)
Yeah, I agree about the BC.
If a Little Leaguer must show a BC, if a soldier going overseas, like Lt.Col. Terry Lain, must prove identification with a BC, what is wrong with asking a candidate for President or Vice President of the U.S.A. for the same document?
This situation our nation is in boggles the mind!
The parties are not the infallible determiners of eligibility but it is worth noting Republicans have run presidential candidates who don't fit the most strict "birther" claims of NBC: two citizen parents at time of birth.
Hell, Hughes was a former SCOTUS Justice when he ran! Later he returned to the court as Chief Justice.
Interestingly enough, a Democrat lawyer did write a piece arguing Hughes did not meet NBC qualification. My point is, both parties are hypocrites for dredging the eligibility up only when it suits their advantage.
Very good point, and thanks for the history lesson.
Every time a non-eligible candidate is put on the ballot, from either (or any) party, it's like a battering ram being thrust against the stout doors of our Republic. The effort (not always effective) has been made in the past.
In the cases of Chester Arthur and BO, each just happened to get his hands on a bigger and thicker tree, and the door got bashed in.
Eligibility bills are good, but public education in civics and the history of our nation is essential.
Plus I already said in that another post.
The country can’t survive another 4 years of this bunch. Whomever can knock his socks off, bring them on.
I want to say to the Irs that a copy of my check is on the net. lol
About the smileys, I used to teach. I wrote those things on everything.
Plenty of people know that Obama is not eligible to be president; that he never was and never will be.
Plenty of people know that Bobby Jindal is likewise not eligible for the presidency, and probably neither is Rubio.
Neither are the alien spawn of people who illegally crossed our border to spit a critter, and neither are the half-alien spawn whose one citizen parent went into rut with a non-citizen.
Just because our courts and politicians are totally corrupt today does not mean it was always thus, or to this degree, nor does it mean that such corruption cannot be defeated and reversed.
A Natural Born Citizen is one born in the USA to parents who are US citizens.
No Jebbies either. :)
That may have been a bit harsh. I wouldn’t wish McCain on anyone. Except, perhaps, the great Federal Republic of Mexico. He’s definitely an improvement over their own politicians, and his immigration views are lock step together. Any chance we could get him to spend the rest of his career as governor of Sonora or Michoachan?
I have been wondering WHY Lakin wasn’t entitled to discovery, of everything?
Just let a conservative win. One that doesn’t advocate Shamnesty.
I’d like to see John enjoying life at his ranch in Cottonwood.
Because he wasn’t tried on the merits of the case - he was railroaded, in my opinion.
The Joint Chiefs could have done the honorable thing and respectfully requested Obama’s BC - they did not OR were blown off by the White House.
The way I see it is ANYBODY THAT IS BORN IN THE UNITED STATES aged 35 or more that has lived here 14 years or more is qualified to be elected president. There are no other hoops that he or she has to jump through to qualify. It doesn’t matter who your parents are or what their status is.
Case closed. Bobby Jindal is 100% qualified to be president because he meets all 3 requirements.
well, the leftists certainly can’t challenge him.
heck, according to “La Raza”, i live in mexico, so i guess i’m a mexican citizen.
That is not what it meant at the time the constitution was written. The understood meaning of the phrase was based on the English common law at the time which held people born in the realm of the Sovereign were natural born citizens.
